One of the most tedious parts of the Cyberpunk 2077 endgame is upgrading your favorite weapons to Tier 5 and beyond. To do that, you need a lot of Tier 5 (formerly Legendary) Components. For reference, taking a base Tier 5 weapon to 5+ costs 75 Components, and going to 5++ requires a whopping 200. So even if you only plan to use three weapons for your final build, you’ll still need 825 Tier 5 Components. Thankfully, by the time you reach the endgame, it’s easy to be swimming in high-rarity gear, and there’s an incredibly easy farm for all the Tier 5 materials you need.
How to Farm Tier 5 Components in Cyberpunk 2077
While not necessary, I recommend having a fairly large amount of credits before you start farming for Tier 5 Components, as you’ll be spending chunks of them at a time. That’s because the best Tier 5 Components farm is to go to clothes and junk item stores and buy out their Tier 5 item stock. High-rarity clothes and junk items tend to run about 1,000-5,000 Eurodollars per piece. You can easily spend 50,000 eddies depending on the store.

Once you have a full inventory of Tier 5 clothes and junk, dismantle all of it. You’ll get 3-5 Tier 5 Components per item in most cases. It’s a better deal overall than simply buying the Components, as they’re almost 1,000 eddies apiece when purchased at a weapon shop. Dismantling clothes also adds them to your Wardrobe menu. This gives you some new fashion options should you choose to change up your look.

Here are the other best ways to get Tier 5 Components:
- Looting everything and everyone. Neutralize enemies and loot chests, cabinets, and loose weapons, especially after you reach level 35+. This is a fantastic way to get not only Tier 5 components but lower-rarity ones as well. The conversion rate from lower Tier to higher is trash, but you can always sell what you don’t want to dismantle. Having the Lucky Day perk from the middle Technical Ability tree also helps.
- Steal cars, capture airdrops. If you have the Phantom Liberty expansion, stealing cars and capturing airdrops is probably the most enjoyable way to get more Components. Every car you turn in and every airdrop you open will reward you with at least a few Tier 5. You’ll usually need to fight a group of enemies in both cases, giving you more loot to work with.
- Buy from vendors. While it’s not the most economical option, buying the Tier 5 Components directly from weapon stores (if they’re in stock) is probably the easiest overall way to get them. If you have more money than you know what to do with, it’s also a great way to empty your wallet.
Those are the best ways I know to farm Tier 5 Components in Cyberpunk 2077. All of them are easy, reward you for engaging with the game’s systems, and will help you get your Iconic weapons up to endgame readiness.
