Copper is an important crafting material used to construct electronics and electrical items. If something needs power, it most likely needs Copper to be crafted. In this document, we’ll check the best ways to farm Copper in Fallout 76.

Where to find Copper

You have three ways to get Copper:

1. Use extractors in workshops or your C.A.M.P. and place them on Copper deposits.
2. You can mine Copper veins in the world to get Copper Ore and smelt it into Copper scraps.
3. By scrapping items that yield Copper.

Copper Ore Locations

You can build your C.A.M.P. close to a Copper deposit or take a workshop with a Copper deposit close by. This allows you to build a Copper Extractor on that deposit. This will allow you to loot 10 Copper ore every 10 minutes per vein.

Note: If you want to extract Lead Scraps with your C.A.M.P., you can not use deposits that belong to a workshop. Cross-reference the map of workshop locations below.

Where to find Copper Scraps

If you need items to scrap for copper you are looking for items that have copper in them. These items are very good:

• High-powered magnets
• Pre-War lamps
• Trumpet
• Cooking pots
• Beaker stand
• Sensor modules
• Hot Plates
• Brass miner’s lamp

Here are a few great locations to farm items with copper in them:

• Landview Lighthouse in The Forest: 6 Lighthouse Souvenir.Walk out of the Lighthouse to the first house you see to grab one Table Light and one Broken Lamp.
• Bolton Greens in The Forest.
• Mountainside Bed and Breakfast
• Abandoned Bog Town in the top floor.
• Sugar Grove

Copper Ore Farming Route

Here is a great farming route for copper ore in Ash Heap. One run takes around 30 minutes. While it’s mostly about copper this run can also help to replace your default Fo76 Aluminum farming.

Don’t forget to use your Excavator Power Armor, if you own it. It will yield 4 times the amount of ores.

How to turn Copper Ore into Copper

After you collected enough Copper Ore you need to smelt it into Copper Scraps. Follow these steps:

1. Make sure to equip the Super Duper Perk Card.
2. Visit a Chemistry Station and click “Craft”.
3. Select “Smelting”.
4. Here you can smelt 3 Copper Ore + 2 Acid into 3 Copper Scrap.

And don’t be confused by the naming: Copper Scrap is Copper. If you want to craft something and it needs Copper, it will use your Copper Scraps from your inventory, Stash Box, or Scrapbox.
