Where To Find Sundelions In Totk

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sundelion might be one of the most important plants in the game. That’s due to its ability to counteract the effects of Gloom, which you’ll find across Hyrule and in the Depths. Here’s our guide on where to find Sundelion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Find Sundelion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The TotK Sundelion is primarily used to remove the effects of Gloom. This blood-red liquid causes a debuff that locks out your max hearts, preventing you from being fully healed. The Sundelion is one of the few available methods to help you stay in tip-top condition.

Sundelion Locations in the Depths and Surface Regions

Generally speaking, you won’t find Sundelion in the Depths. Since the Depths is shrouded in darkness, you’ll rarely see the light of the sun shine through. However, the Surface region proves slightly more lucrative. I’ve scoured various locations across Hyrule and discovered the plant is still quite hard to find.

However, there are a couple of places to farm Sundelion in the Forgotten Temple, where you’ll come across the Mayausiy Shrine. What’s more, TotK Sundelion nodes tend to respawn after a Bloodmoon Cycle, too.

TotK Sundelion Farm in the Sky Region

If you’re wondering where to find Sundelion in more abundant quantities, look no further than the Sky region. Almost every Sky Archipelago, and even some smaller floating islands, will have at least one Sundelion farming node. This makes the Sky region the best zone to find Sundelion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

I suggest acquiring the Purah Pad Camera and Sensor+ upgrades. Then, once you’ve found at least one Sundelion growing in the wild (or if you can take one out of your inventory), just take a picture of it.

When you open your map, you can select the Sensor+ target by pressing the X button. Pick the Sundelion, and a radar ping will tell you if a node is close enough. This leads to efficient Sundelion farming runs — and farming runs for a lot of materials.

Sundelion Effects and Cooking Meals

If you have some Sundelions already, you may be wondering their effects and you can use them while cooking. On its own, Sundelion won’t actually heal you, so you’ll want to combine it with other ingredients.

For this, simply use any cooking pot, such as the one in Lookout Landing. Then, select the Sundelion and combine it with another ingredient that’s edible, such as any type of meat, fruit, or mushroom.

The resulting meal will have the “Sunny” affix, meaning it will “unlock” hearts afflicted with Gloom. Likewise, if you added another ingredient that also restores hearts, the food itself will also heal you.

In any case, that’s where to find The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sundelion, as well as how to farm it and how to use it. For more tips, walkthroughs, and strategies, head over to our Zelda: TotK guides page.
