Where To Get Eevee In Pokemon Sword

With its floofy tail and kind smile, Eevee is one of the most popular Pokemon in the series. That makes it one of the most sought-after Pokemon in every generation of the games and Pokemon Sword and Shield. is no different

What makes Eevee even desirable in each Pokemon title are the eight “Eeveelutions” that allow Eevee to eventually fit into any given party. While there are no new Eeveelutions in Pokemon Sword and Shield, trainers still want to catch multiple Eevee in order to evolve each one into their favorite Eeveelutions.

Where to get Eeevee in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Finding an Eevee in Pokemon Sword and Shield is fairly easy. Trainers can find Eevees in the grass along Route 4 during any time of day. Take the train from Wedgehurst to this area to start searching for this previously elusive Pokemon.

While the location is straightforward, that doesn’t mean the area is overflowing with Eevees. Eevee is just one of several Pokemon that can be found in the tall grass on Route 4. Take some time walking around the tall, yellow grass and keep an eye out for Eevee’s long ears.

Once an Eevee is spotted, just run into it to start the battle and go about it like any other Pokemon. Weaken the Eevee, throw a Poke Ball, and then add it to the party.

Another way to catch an Eevee is through Max Raid Battles located on Bridge Field, East Lake Axewell, Motostoke Riverbank, and Rolling Fields. While in the Wild Area, approach Pokemon Den beacons to take on Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon. When Pokemon Dens are emitting a ray of light that means there are Dynamax Pokemon hiding there, ready to be captured. Trainers won’t know which Pokemon are waiting inside except for a shadow outline and mention of its type.

This isn’t the most efficient way of getting an Eevee as there is a long list of Pokemon that could appear in any given den and Wishing Pieces are one of the game’s most expensive items. The benefit of catching an Eevee in a Max Raid Battle is that it will have much stronger base IV stats than those caught out in the wild.

How to evolve Eevee in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Just like locating an Eevee is pretty easy, it’s also easy to evolve an Eevee in Pokemon Sword and Shield. There are eight Eeveelutions, each with its own requirements for evolving.

Jolteon: Use a Thunder Stone on Eevee.

Flareon: Use a Fire Stone on Eevee.

Vaporeon: Use a Water Stone on Eevee.

Leafeon: Use a Leaf Stone on Eeevee.

Glaceon: Use an Ice Stone on Eevee.

Espeon: Raise Eevee’s friendship level by walking and battling with Eevee, then level it up during the day.

Umbreon: Raise Eevee’s friendship level by walking and battling with Eevee, then level it up at night.

Sylveon: Raise Eevee’s friendship level by walking and battling with Eevee, then level it up while it knows any Fairy-type move.

Here are a few extra tips. Look for stones on the narrow strip of land across from the Lake of Outrage, which can be found by taking a right when entering the Wild Area from Hammerlocke. This area can only be accessed when trainers have a bike that can travel on water. A tall ring of stones will be on the land, each with a different element stone next to it.

Trainers can have their Eevee hold the Soothe Bell to quickly increase the Pokemon’s friendliness. This item can be found in Hammerlocke. The blonde woman who gives trainers the item is in a house on the right of the entrance to the city. Another person living with her in the home can tell trainers what level of friendship their Pokemon is currently at.

Trainers can also feed their Eevee a number of EV-reducing berries, such as Kelpsy Berries and Hondew Berries, in order to quickly raise their friendship.

How to catch an Eeveelution in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Trainers that don’t feel like catching and evolving an Eevee can also catch an already-evolved Eeveelution in Pokemon Sword and Shield. They can be found near the Lake of Outrage near the ring of stones. A new Eeveelution will appear each day, depending on the weather.

If the weather is intense sun, expect to find a Flareon. Jolteon will show up during thunderstorms. Vaporeons will be attracted by rain. If the weather appears normal, a Leafeon will appear. Snow and snowstorms bring Glaceons. If the weather is overcast, expect to see an Espeon. Umbreons only show up during sandstorms. Heavy fog will invite Sylveons to the spot.
