Where To Get Gerudo Shield Totk

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield are two of the best items during your earliest hours in Hyrule. Admittedly, the Scimitar isn’t very good on its own and has low durability, but it’s great for Fusing since it adds +10 ATK. Likewise, the Shield has 28 base DEF, which is hard to beat. Our guide will show you how to find the Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find the Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

As you might expect from their names, Gerudo Scimitars and Gerudo Shields can be found in (surprise!) the Gerudo Region of Hyrule. This area is located southwest of Kakariko Village. I’ve marked each of the locations with red circles in the screenshot above. Here’s where to find each instance in the East Barrens area, Koukot Plateau, and Gerudo Town.

First Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield Location: East Barrens

Along the eastern edge of the Gerudo region, you’ll see a cluster of 12 Ancient Altar Ruins commonly known as East Barrens. Here you’ll find two chests that contain both Gerudo items at the following coordinates:

  • Gerudo Scimitar (-2473, -3704, -0042)
  • Gerudo Shield (-2557, -3679, -0044)

Second Gerudo Scimitar and Shield: Koukot Plateau

The second Gerudo Scimitar location is the Koukot Plateau, which is located in the northeast portion of the Gerudo region, and in the southeast portion of the Gerudo Highlands. You’ll find the Koukot Plateau Cave at coordinates -2187, -1849, 0076, which contains a chest with Gerudo Scimitar.

Third Gerudo Scimitar and Shield Location: In and Near Gerudo Town

Another easy way to get a Gerudo Shield near the eponymous town is to go to coordinates (-3941, -2935, 0086). However, getting a Scimitar in this region proves a bit more difficult.

Palu Wasteland

If you go to the following coordinates in Palu Wasteland (-3211, -3050, -0039), you’ll find a sandpit you can jump into. This leads you to some prison cells that also contain treasure chests with a Gerudo Scimitar.

Toruma Dunes: How to Farm Gerudo Scimitars

Toruma Dunes is the area to the east of Gerudo Town, and it’s dangerous. It’s constantly being attacked by sandworm creatures called Molduga. I suggest coming prepared with a decent armor set, shield, and weapon, preferably something Fused for more ATK and DEF.

That’s because you’ll have to fight them for the items you’re after. They drop treasure chests once defeated that often contain various Gerudo items, including Gerudo Scimitar. I found that you can farm Molduga chests at the following coordinates in Toruma Dunes (-4303, -2824, 0037).

You can summon Molduga by firing arrows into the ground. Once it pops out of the sand, use arrows with Flower Bombs to stun the creature, and then attack with any powerful melee weapon to defeat it. I wasn’t able to get a Gerudo Scimitar or Gerudo Shield on my first few attempts, but coming back during the Blood Moon, when these creatures respawn, proved to be the trick.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get Gerudo Scimitar and Gerudo Shield in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Stay tuned for more TotK tips and tricks articles right here.
