While Cannes and St Tropez and known for their glamorous lifestyle, nearby Antibes is considerably more casual and relaxed. Having visited the city a number of times, I can vouch for the lovely sandy beaches, stunning nature along the cape and a pretty old town. In this guide, I recommend where to stay in Antibes both for short and longer stays.
Where to Stay in Antibes
Antibes train station is less than a 10-minute walk to the centre of Vieux Antibes (the old town). This is where you can explore the narrow streets, shop in small boutiques and eat from any of the diverse range of cafes, bars and restaurants. There are a number of world-renowned museums here too, including the Picasso Museum. You can wander around the Ramparts, swim at the Plage de la Gravette and shop at the historic food market, Marché Provençal. For hiking and nature, head to Cap d’Antibes (Cape of Antibes) and visit the peaceful beaches at Juan-Les-Pins.

Hôtel Sainte ValérieAddress: Rue de l’Oratoire, Juan-les-Pins, FranceOn the other side of Cap d’Antibes (the cape) is the small town of Juan-Les-Pins. This area is equally, if not more beautiful than Antibes proper and is a wonderful area to stay in greater Antibes. The beach here is incredibly peaceful if you’re visiting in the off-season and this hotel is ideal for swimming, hiking and exploring the sights of the cape, including the beautiful Phare de l’Ilette lighthouse. The hotel has a pool and wonderful lush gardens. The rooms are large although a little dated in their design.

La JabotteAddress: 13 avenue Max Maurey, Antibes, FranceSituated on the beautiful Cap d’Antibes, La Jabotte is a lovely option thanks to its proximity to the beach and the cape along with being one of the most affordable hotels in Antibes. This is probably more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, making it a more cosy accommodation experience.
Mas DjolibaAddress: 29, Avenue De Provence, AntibesAlthough Mas Djoliba is just outside of the historic centre of Antibes, Hotel Mas Djoliba is well located for access to beaches, in particular, Plage du Ponteil, as well as being within walking distance to Juan-Les-Pins. The hotel has a terrace and a beautiful pool if you don’t feel like going too far from your room. Reviews mention the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the excellent breakfast and the friendliness of the staff.
Antibes: A nest perched on the sea!Address: 24 Boulevard James Wyllie, Antibes, FranceFor longer stays, apartment accommodation is always a good choice or even for shorter stays if you’re looking for more privacy or if you’re travelling in a large group. One of the best and most highly-rated apartments in Antibes is ‘A nest perched on the sea!’, a one-bedroom apartment located directly across from Salis Beach. This is not the main city beach of Antibes but a very popular beach not far from the historic centre.
