Stay in Granada city
Granada capital is divided into 8 different districts: Norte, Beiro, Chana, Albaycín, Centro, Ronda, Genil and Zaidín. The Centro, Albaicín and Ronda districts have the largest number of hotel accommodation places. Best places to stay in Granada
Plaza Nueva, the place for the very tourists
Part of the historic city centre is an ideal place to stroll among some of the most emblematic monuments. It is full of life, tourists, restaurants and bars – without tapas -. The fountain there is one of the most common meeting points for tourists and guided tours in Granada.
More expensive to sleep in than other areas but the best place to stay to get to know Granada if you are staying no more than 2-3 days. Locals tend not to move around in this area unless they are going somewhere specific because it is usually very crowded.

Just in front of the Plaza Nueva, you will find the place for relaxation and a dip in the thermal waters of the Arab baths Hamman Al-andalus. Five minutes away from any interesting place that is on your weekend agenda. It gets a little bit busy in some seasons of the year but there are plenty of tapas bars, romantic restaurants and shops full of souvenirs.
Sacromonte neighbourhood: cave houses & flamenco
Would you like to sleep in a cave house? Then this is the neighbourhood for you. The most folkloric, gypsy and flamenco quarter of the capital. Amongst the caves, well connected to the Albaicín and the Abadía del Sacromonte, a different place to stay in the capital of Granada.
However, there is one thing you should bear in mind: you are in an area that, despite being “in the centre”, is quite far from the city centre and communication by car is quite limited unless you use public transport such as taxis or buses.
Alhambra & Generalife area
The red fortress area. The monumental complex of the Alhambra and the Generalife, a World Heritage Site. Surrounded by the forest that takes its name from the monument and where the Palace of Charles V is also located. A beautiful, unique and romantic setting.

The Albaicín, sleep in the most beautiful quarter of Granada
The most emblematic neighbourhood of Granada, historic district and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is undoubtedly one of the districts of Granada most chosen by tourists to sleep in the city. Getting up, opening your window and having the Alhambra in front of you is priceless.
Alcaicería, Bib-Rambla and the Cathedral, close to everything in the capital
Here, the only thing that will be far away is the Alhambra. Historic district but adapted to modern times, without losing any of its charm. An area of shops, tourists and locals. If you like hustle and bustle, Calle Elvira and its area of tea shops, tapas bars and pubs will be your ideal resting place. Because rest, maybe you won’t have any. But you will have plenty of partying and fun. Many of the bars and pubs are already almost adapted for tourists: with huge TV screens to broadcast international football and rugby.
Calle Navas & Town Hall, area for tapas & pubs
Located in a central district of the capital, Calle Navas is another meeting point for visitors. Tapas bars and restaurants on both sides of the small street will fill your senses and your stomach as well. Next to this street, you will also find Calle Ángel Ganivet: a meeting place for the crème de la crème of the capital. A large pedestrian area with select shops in Granada: jewellers, restaurants or the 4-stars Hotel Meliá Granada.
Granada Conference & Exhibition Centre area
If you are visiting Granada for business, international congresses, trade fairs, informative conferences or big shows, the area of the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Granada is perfect. Especially if the event takes place there. We highlight the Hotel Saray, just behind it. Well communicated with the rest of the city, several private car parks nearby and close to the Paseo del Salón, where you can go for a walk or go running.
Train Station of Granada
Granada Train Station – Also host High Speed Train AVE – is a nodern area with a beautiful boulevard that runs along one of the main arteries of the city. Ideal for business and with good connections. Perfect link with buses, trains and taxis due to its equidistance to almost anywhere in the centre of Granada.
Bullring of Granada area
This area is popular with university students, so there is a good atmosphere and tapas bars. It is an ideal place to stay if you come to Granada also for the Corpus Christi festivities due to its proximity to the bullring and the good connection with buses that take you to the fairgrounds.
