Lucky for travelers, there are many great spots to stay overnight in the South Haven area. Many (we’d even venture mention to say MOST) travelers fall in love with the area and prefer to stay for an extended period of time: a few days, a weekend or two…even and entire summer!

South Haven Lodging

There’s a wide variety of lodging types in South Haven, from hotels and motels to Inns and B & B’s.

There’s also many private homes, cottages and and cabins in the town of South Haven and the surrounding area that are also available as vacation rentals. The options for private Michigan beach vacation rentals range from large, sumptuous lakefront homes to smaller, family-friendly homes and cabins.

You’ll even find rentals on some of the surrounding farms in the area. We’ve spent a lifetime visiting the South Haven area and have stayed at many different accommodations around the area.

With a convenient location right off the expressway, you’ll find clean and spacious rooms. The Baymont by Wyndham South Haven has a daily breakfast buffet that’s quite good (the coffee is usually strong and hot), and there’s a good-sized indoor pool and workout room, too.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson South Haven1741 Phoenix St, South Haven, MI 49090

This is a really nice choice: roomy, clean and comfortable. The Country Inn and Suites has both a 24-hour fitness room and an indoor pool, too. There’s a good complimentary breakfast and in-room refridgerators for storing beach snacks, too.

Great Lakes Inn and Suites 9814 M-140, South Haven, MI 49090

This is an affordable and clean spot and the beds are quite comfortable. There’s a mix of standard rooms and suites, which are quite roomy. It’s pet-friendly, which is rare for the area and a nice pool, too.

Hampton Inn South Haven04299 Cecilia Dr, South Haven, MI 49090

You can always count on the Hampton Inn to havecomfy pillows, and this one is no different. There’s a really good complimentary breakfast with hot and cold foods, along with an indoor pool and hot tub, too. This spot is very clean, and the beds are comfy, too. It’s a good location: right down the road from downtown South Haven.

The Hotel Nichols is a boutique hotel right in downtown South Haven. It’s located in a 19th century brick building that has been tastefully rennovated: it’s a really pretty spot. The rooms are exceptionally clean here, and you’ll find a really good breakfast, too. It’s located within walking distance of two beautiful South Haven beaches- a perfect spot for a romantic getaway.

Holiday Inn South Haven and IHG Hotel72095 Co Rd 388, South Haven, MI 49090

The Holiday Inn South Haven is brand new and it’s really a lovely spot. Very clean and the rooms are noticably quiet. There is a wide variety of room options: King and Queen suites; premium rooms and standard rooms. I liked the nice, clean pool and workout center and the complimentary continental breakfast was very good, too.

Between the stunning Lake Michigan views and the ceiling fans that pick up the gentle breezes off the lake, there’s not much else I need when I stay at the Lake Bluff. It’s one of the most popular hotels, and you find a mix of rooms, suites and even an three-bedroom villa. The outdoor pool is nice, too.

Old Harbor Inn515 Williams St, South Haven, MI 49090

One of my favorite spots to stay in South Haven is the Old Harbor Inn, right on the waterfront. It’s a very unique spot, with a perfect location overlooking the harbor and just a short walk to downtown.

Charming South Haven is the perfect setting for accommodations in both Bed and Breakfast’s and quaint Inn’s. You’ll find them located in the quiet and picturesque residential areas, and thoughout the area, too.

Inn at the Park Bed and Breakfast233 Dyckman Ave, South Haven, MI 49090

One of my favorite South Haven memories is of a delicious breakfast served in the pretty garden while staying at the Inn at the Park Bed and Breakfast. Just a block from Lake Michigan, it’s a very charming spot, and each suite has its own fireplace. That makes it cozy in the fall months, too.

Martha’s Vineyard Bed & Breakfast473 N Blue Star Hwy, South Haven, MI 49090

Set on a sprawling, beautifully-manicured four acres that includes a pond, a gazebo and a vineyard, Martha’s Vineyard Bed and Breakfast is one of the most delightful stays in South Haven. Located about a mile from the beach, you’ll find two different houses here: one catering to romantic getaways and the other, a more family-friendly spot. It’s really clean and comfortable: a little respite from the business of the downtown area.

Monroe Manor Inn

Set on four picturesque acres just outside downtown South Haven, you’ll find this stately, historic bed and breakfast both clean and comfortable. It’s peaceful here, with a pretty front porch and firepit on the lawn for relaxing, too.

Yelton Manor Boutique Hotel B&B140 N Shore Dr, South Haven, MI 49090

Let me go on record: The Yelton Manor has some of the most comfortable beds in South Haven. You can choose between the manor and guest house, both exceptionally clean and comfortable. Just a short walk to the beach, you’ll also find a well-stocked library, lounge and a patio for relaxing. What I love best, though is the lovely garden, on of the prettiest in South Havem.

South Haven Hotels: Glamping and Camping in South Haven MI

Hidden Ponds RV Resort73030 12th Ave, South Haven, MI 49090

Close to downtown South Haven you’ll find spacious grounds with easy-in; easy-out campsites at Hidden Ponds. You’ll find a nice clean pool, as well as a pond and woods for exploring. The proximity to Lake Michigan beaches is nice: little over a mile to the South Haven beaches.

I really think this is glamping at its best: spacious platform tents with comfy beds already set up; a clean and modern bathroom and firepit with Adirondack chairs. Off-Map Glamping is a very unique spot, and a great affordable way to experience the fun of South Haven without playing the steep prices during the busy months.

This fun, family-friendly campground features 90 acres of spaces with swimming ponds, hiking trails, fields and spacious campsites. You’ll also find cabins on cottages on the property, ranging from furnished to rustic. Your kids will love TriPonds: you’ll find minature golf, a climbing wall, a pool. playground and more.

Here’s the thing about South Haven: while it’s always a great choice for a weekend getaway or quick day trip to visit the beautiful Lake Michigan beaches; to spend some time shopping in the charming downtown area or even to stop in at one of the many local Michigan wineries, it’s ALWAYS hard to leave.
