Pinnacles National Monument (nps.gov/pinn) is a great destination for families, climbers, or couples looking for an adventure away from popular spots like Big Sur or San Jose. A weekly entry pass to the park can start at as low as 15 usd for a walker or bike, or 30 usd for all passengers of a car making the destination a great low cost activity for visitors. The park also has free entry days through the NPS around five times per year.
Located in Paicines, California, the monument contains two talus caves, and plenty of friendly hotels and vacation rentals nearby to choose from. The Monterey Peninsula, Carmel Valley, Laguna Seca are just some of the areas within driving distance from the park.

Inn at the Pinnacles
The Inn at the Pinnacles (innatthepinnacles.com) is a bed and breakfast in Soledad, California, about two and a half miles from the southern entrance to the national monument. The inn is nestled into the grounds of the Chalone Vineyard (chalonevineyard.com), and each of the six guest suites offers expansive views of the vineyards and the surrounding mountains, including two rooms with views of the Pinnacles National Park.

After check-in, visitors gain free wifi, free parking, continental breakfast, and friendly front desk staff to offer local recommendations. Each suite has its own patio with gas grill, fireplace and whirlpool tub, and guests have access to an outdoor pool. The inn serves wine and cheese every evening.
The Inn at Pinnacles offers great guest rooms and beautiful views perfect for a getaway, but in the event plans change, do not forget the inn’s cancellation policy requiring seven days notice to receive a refund. Other options nearby include the Motel 6 Soledad.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Hollister
The Fairfield Suites Hollister (https://www.fairfieldhollister.com) is a newer hotel located around 30 miles north of the Pinnacles. Features including an indoor pool, dry cleaning services, and free breakfast make Fairfield a stylish slice of paradise. Dining onsite is limited to breakfast or grab and go options but nearby are a plethora of restaurants to choose from.
Nearby competitors to the Fairfield that are also worth checking out include a Surestay hotel, ihg Hotel, and Comfort Inn.
Keefer’s Inn

Keefer’s Inn (keefersinn.com) is in downtown King City, about 30 miles south of Pinnacles National Monument. The 47-room motel offers free wireless Internet and free breakfast. The inn also has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub as well as a small gift shop.
Dining options include Lawrence’s Restaurant, on the inn’s property, and numerous fast food restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is across the street from the King City Shopping Center, which has a grocery store and other shops.
Days Inn King City
The Days Inn King City (daysinn.com) is on the western edge of King City, just off of Highway 101. The hotel has 46 rooms, with smoking rooms available. The property has a pool and a few rooms with hot tubs. Breakfast is complimentary, as is wireless Internet and coffee. While the hotel does not have a restaurant on-site, numerous dining options are within walking distance, including a Denny’s, diners, cafes and fast food.
Climbers staying at the inn must be willing to drive, but can make it to the west entrance of the monument after twenty five miles. One perk of the King City location is close access to a nearby golf course, a just four minutes drive down Broadway St near the Motel 6 King City.
