Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former United Nations envoy Nikki Haley hit the stage tonight for the fifth Republican Party debate of the current U.S. presidential cycle, and the last one before the Iowa caucuses on Jan. 15.

Along with Donald Trump (who is doing a separate town hall), DeSantis and Haley were the only two candidates who qualified for tonight’s debate, with polling above 10%. Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie have been prominent in the headlines, but both failed to qualify.

DeSantis vs. Haley: How to Watch Republican Debate

The 2024 GOP presidential candidates will face off in the fifth Republican primary debate, taking place at at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 10. Airing live from Iowa on CNN, the debate is being moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

Will Donald Trump Be at the Republican Debate?

Only three Republican candidates qualified for tonight’s debate per their campaigns: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former-U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump.

Trump — who is in the lead at a whopping 65 percent support among potential Republican primary voters, according to a Morning Consult poll — will not attend the debate and is instead participating in a town hall in Iowa.

Tonight’s debate and Trump town hall come just five days before voting kicks off for the Iowa caucuses, the first step towards a presidential run.
