Where To Use Green Card Rust

Scavenging is a huge part of Rust as it allows you to get resources you would only get through hours of farming nodes. As you look through the various monuments, you will find some sealed green doors or some Green Keycards.

The Green Keycards are the first in a series of colored keycards that will allow you to find rare resources hidden behind electricity puzzles.

Though they won’t get you the best possible loot, the Green Keycards are easy to find and will allow you to get easy higher-level equipment in the early game.

There are 7 monuments where you can find a Green Keycard in Rust, and there are 6 locations where you can use it. To get the Green Keycard, you will just have to explore the monuments. To use them, you will have to solve a simple electricity puzzle.

The easiest places to get the Green Keycard in Rust are the Supermarket and the Gas Station. In both of these locations, you can find the keycard resting on a desk in an office.

At the Gas Station, you might have to break a wooden board blocking the entrance to the office.

Since both locations don’t have any kind of hostile NPCs in them, you can get the Green Keycard and get out before any other players come to loot.

The Junkyard is also a decent location to get the Green Keycard, but you will have to climb a bit. The Green Keycard is waiting for you inside the D2 cargo container next to the crane on the higher levels of the monument.

The Oil Rigs and the Underwater Lab are not necessarily the best locations to get the keycard, as they are relatively hard to loot and if you can scavenge these locations, you won’t need the Green Keycard from them. By that time, you should start looting Red Keycard locations.

To get the Green Keycard from the Power Plant, you will already need another Green Keycard to enter a puzzle where you will also have to use a Blue Keycard. So, you should avoid this location until you have a Blue Keycard.

Unfortunately, there is no way to buy keycards for Scrap, which would make these missions much easier.

There are only six locations where you can use the Green Keycard to get special loot and the Blue Keycard:

  • Airfield
  • Harbors
  • Power Plant
  • Satellite Dish
  • Sewer Branch
  • Train Yard

Most of the monuments in Rust where you can use the Green Keycard will either give you a Blue Keycard or are just a place where you will also need a Blue Keycard for a complex puzzle where you will get a Red Keycard.

The locations where you should go if you only have a Green Keycard are the Harbors, both the smaller and larger ones, the Sewer Branch, and the Satellite Dish.

At these monuments, you will just have to solve a quick electricity puzzle, and then you will find some good loot and a Blue Keycard.

At the Power Plant, there will be two rooms locked off by Green Keycard security. One of them is just a simple room where you will find a Blue Keycard and decent loot.

The other is a whole building where you will find a second Green Keycard and a door that requires a Blue Keycard to advance.

The Train Yard and Airfield are not worth your trouble if you don’t also have a Blue Keycard. Most of the effort there will be defeating the enemies and then looting. The Green Keycard will only give you access to fairly irrelevant rooms.

That’s everything you need to know about where to get and use a Green Keycard in Rust!
