Endless Love is a 2014 American romance film directed by Shana Feste and co-written by Feste with Joshua Safran. A remake of Franco Zeffirelli’s 1981 film of the same name and second adaptation of Scott Spencer’s novel, the film stars Alex Pettyfer, Gabriella Wilde, Bruce Greenwood, Joely Richardson, and Robert Patrick.
The story is of a privileged girl and a charismatic boy whose instant desire sparks a love affair made only more reckless by parents trying to keep them apart.

Principal photography began in May of 2013 and wrapped two months later. The film was released on February 14, 2014 by Universal Pictures in the US.
A number of key scenes from the film were shot on location at Jackson Lake in Butts County. The County Film Liaison worked closely with the Georgia Power Company, who manages the lake, to secure the necessary permits for filming scenes in the water. A private lake house was also secured and utilized for over two weeks to shoot the lake scenes. Because of the close working relationship between the County government and Georgia Power, the permitting process was accomplished in a day.

During filming for the movie, a large number of locally owned pontoon boats were rented by the production company which shot many scenes in the lake cove and out on the body of water that makes up the principal lake. Jackson Lake is a manmade body of water that was created in 1911 by the construction of what was then the highest elevation dam in the nation. The hydroelectric plant within the dam was used to harness the water’s power and convert it into electricity. The dam continues to be used for that purpose today and was one of the building blocks that became the Georgia Power Company. Jackson Lake is a recreational lake with ideal areas for boating, fishing and swimming. A number of homes ranging from small lake cabins to multi-story mansions occupy the developed areas of the lake while several thousand acres of preserved, undeveloped forest provide buffer zones.
The proximity of the lake to Macon and Atlanta, plus the ease of working with Georgia Power make Jackson Lake an ideal place for filming where a natural water vista is desired.
