Where Was Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant Filmed

A true story-based action thriller called “The Covenant” was co-written and directed by Guy Ritchie. The narrative centers on US Army Sergeant John Kinley, who enlists Ahmed, a local translator, to help his group in their fight against the Taliban. Ahmed enlists in the hopes of exacting revenge for the death of his son, but when the Sergeant is hurt fighting terrorists, Kinley is ultimately saved.

Kinley ventures back to the conflict zone to save Ahmed after learning that he is still being sought after by the Taliban after returning to the United States. It is a motivating story about giving up for others, an unlikely friendship, and the strength of human connection.

The Covenant Filming Locations

“The Covenant,” an action film, was shot on location in Spain. More specifically, filming took place in Alicante and Zaragoza, with principal photography reportedly starting in January 2022 until late March of the same year, under the working title “The Interpreter.”

Despite the story predominantly taking place in Afghanistan, the production crew set up camp in Spain. This was because of the suitability of the filming locations in Spain and the government support offered to the film’s production team. Productions like “The Covenant” are not just significant for their on-screen content but also for the economic opportunities that they bring to the region.

The Vinalopó Mitjà and Alto Vinalopó townships, nestled amidst awe-inspiring mountain ranges, provide the perfect mountainous terrain for the high-octane chase scenes, while the picturesque city of Sax serves as the location for intense close-combat fighting.
