Hardee’s was first established in 1960 in Greenville, North Carolina, by Wilbur Hardee. The success of that original Hardee’s was pretty much immediate, and today Hardee’s has expanded to over 1,800 locations throughout the United States. While some of the menu items have changed over the years, it remains a solid favorite across the board!

Is There a 24 hour Hardee’s Near Me?

Hardee’s Menu
It’s near impossible to write an article about Hardee’s and not mention their ‘Made From Scratch’ biscuits. As the name suggests, they are made fresh and are a cornerstone item which many consider Hardee’s signature dish.

Along with the biscuits, Hardee’s offers an excellent selection of burgers. Call us old fashioned, but our personal favorite is the Big Cheeseburger. Depending on your tastebuds, the Mushroom and Swiss or Super Star with Cheese are up there as well.
If you like things a little spicier, Hardee’s also offers burritos, hard shell tacos, soft tacos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, and nachos. In particular, the Beef Burrito Taco Salad is quite memorable – it’s essentially a burrito bowl, except the bowl is a giant crispy tortilla.
The Beans Rice and Cheese Burrito is a great option for the vegetarians among us. Or, if chicken is your thing, then they also have Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders or the Big Chicken Fillet Sandwich.
Feel free to view their full menu on their website.
Hardee’s Breakfast Hours
Hardee’s breakfast hours are typically between 6am and 10.30am, so that’s a pretty decent window whether you’re an early riser or prefer to sleep in.
What is Hardee’s Breakfast Menu?
Those ‘Made From Scratch’ biscuits mentioned earlier are a definite favorite when it comes to breakfast. Considering how popular they are, they deserve another look as there is a range of options available:
- Sausage
- Bacon, Egg, and Cheese
- Loaded Omelette
- Biscuits and Gravy (more traditional)
- Cinnamon and raisin biscuit (if you prefer something sweet)
Believe it or not, all of that barely scratches the surface of all the biscuit options available. And if you don’t prefer biscuits, there are also croissants and breakfast burritos available too. Check out the full breakfast menu here.

Hardee’s offer a ‘Beyond Meat’ option across their range of burgers. They also have the ‘Beyond Sausage’ option on their breakfast menu, both of which offer an alternative to meat (which still tastes fantastic)! Please keep in mind, Hardee’s website does point out that these products are prepared in the same environment as their meat products, so they can’t guarantee that they will be 100% meat-free.
Hardee’s also offers their “Other Side” menu choices, which allow you to “Veg it,” “Low-Carb it,” or “Trim it,” so basically you can customize your order to suit your dietary needs. You can find their “Other Side” site by reversing the domain name of their regular website. (So instead of hardees.com you type in seedrah.com).
On seedrah.com, you’ll find a mirrored version of the Hardee’s site where you can discover in-depth info about their extended menu options. To read it, all you have to do is hover over an element, and it will flip around. Or if you’re feeling clever, try holding a mirror up to your screen as that will work too!
Hardee’s Secret Menu!
Honestly, it’s the luck of the draw as to whether the staff will welcome your off-menu order… but it can’t hurt to try, right?
One popular favorite is known as ‘The Harold’ which consists of biscuits and gravy topped with hash browns, eggs, and cheese. The trick is to not ask for The Harold by name, but rather ask if they are willing to put together something special for you. If they are, go ahead and describe The Harold to them. It’s a bit unorthodox (and might only be worth attempting during off-peak hours), but there’s a nice payoff if everything goes well.
Once you find a Hardee’s restaurant that is happy to let you order off-menu, the only limit is your creativity.
Enjoy your meal!
