1. Introduction
In this guide, we’ll go over how to check the network status of your Sonos speakers by using the Sonos app. The app displays information about all of the Sonos products in your home, including whether your system is operating in a wireless or wired setup. If you’re having connectivity issues, or if you are simply curious and want to check the status of your devices, you’re in the right place. Have your computer or mobile device with the Sonos app handy, and we’ll demonstrate how to check.

Tools You’ll Need:
- A paperclip
- iPhone charging cable
- Access to a computer with iTunes installed
- Any other non-consumable tools needed

2. Check Network Status via the Sonos App
No matter what device you control Sonos speakers from, information about all the Sonos speakers in your home will be displayed once you access the About My Sonos System section of the app. This means that checking your speaker status doesn’t need to be done from multiple devices. Simply use whichever device you typically access the Sonos app with the most.
The About My Sonos System information panel will display all the information about your current setup. In terms of checking the network status of your Sonos speakers, there are a few codes to be aware of:

Select your device from the available options to learn how to access the About My Sonos System information panel to check your status:
iOS or Android
- Open the Sonos app.
- Then select the More tab.
- Press the Settings settings button in the menu.
- Then proceed to the About my Sonos System tab.
- The About My Sonos System screen will display all of the Sonos products currently connected in your household, and whether they are connected to your home’s WiFi (wireless setup) or the dedicated Sonos network (wired setup). Look for the WM (Wireless Mode) code to determine your speaker’s network status.
macOS
- Launch the Sonos app.
- Click Sonos within the menu bar, then click About My Sonos System.
- The About My Sonos System screen will display all of the Sonos products currently connected in your household, and whether they are connected to your home’s WiFi (wireless setup) or the dedicated Sonos network (wired setup). Look for the WM (Wireless Mode) code to determine your speaker’s network status.
Windows
- Open the Sonos app.
- Select Help.
- Select About My Sonos System.
- The About My Sonos System screen will display all of the Sonos products currently connected in your household, and whether they are connected to your home’s WiFi (wireless setup) or the dedicated Sonos network (wired setup). Look for the WM (Wireless Mode) code to determine your speaker’s network status.
