Every spellcaster class in Baldur’s Gate 3 has its unique spell-casting mechanics that affect which spells it can use. As Warlocks can’t use traditional spells, Eldritch Invocations is an exclusive class feature in Baldur’s Gate 3 that allows them to cast spells. These invocations help the player customize and enhance Warlock’s abilities according to their playstyle and come in handy if you want to create a Warlock build for Wyll.
The Eldritch Invocations first unlock at player level 2. From there, you get new and high-level Eldritch Invocations at level 5, level 7, level 9, and level 12, respectively. Like spells, you can change your Eldritch Invocation to a different one you have already unlocked whenever you level up.

Since there are so many Eldritch Invocations to choose from, we have created a tier list of the best ones.
10. Minions of Chaos
The Minions of Chaos is a level 9 Eldritch Invocation, that lets players cast Conjure Elemental spell. While Warlocks can’t normally conjure elementals, the Minions of Chaos invocation allows them to do that. The spell summons an Elemental Creature, a minion, at the cost of a spell slot. The minion helps you in your combat, dealing damage to the opponents, and it can be spawned within an 18m radius.
Warlocks get only two spell slots at Level 9, so you must use this invocation with planning. Minions of Chaos can only be used once per short rest.
9. Fiendish Vigor
Fiendish Vigor unlocks at character level 2 and is among the very first ones you can access. This Eldritch Invocation enables the warlock to cast a False Life Spell. The spell increases Warlock’s HP by 7~12. This is not much, but it can be useful in tricky situations. Using the Fiendish Vigor invocation will prevent your Warlock from getting killed. This invocation doesn’t use any Spell slot.
8. Mask of Many Faces

Unlocking at level 2, The Mask of Many Faces allows you to use the Disguise Spell. Many situations during the dialogues can get you better results if you have a different class, race, or gender. This spell transforms you into another race or gender to get you that better option during the conversation.
Mask of Many Faces Eldritch Invocation doesn’t use a spell slot and lasts until your long rest.
7. Mire the Mind
Mire the Mind Eldritch Invocation unlocks at character level 5 in Baldur’s Gate 3. This Invocation allows you to use the Slow Spell, arguably one the best debuff spells. The spell targets 3x Enemies and slows them down. The enemies will miss the attacks and you will have an advantage on your damage rolls against them. This Invocation is great for crowd control.
6. Book of Ancient Secrets
Book of Ancient Secrets Eldritch Invocation unlocks at level 7 and allows players to cast 3 spells without preparing them beforehand. Whenever you use the Book of Ancient Secrets, you can cast Chromatic Orb, Ray of Sickness, and Silence. So, it is an invocation that basically works as 3 different spells, and you can cast them without using any spell slots.
Unfortunately, the Book of Ancient Secrets can only be used once per long rest.
5. Armor of Shadows
The Warlocks don’t have that much resistance against attacks, and it does not take much to defeat one. To save you from the situation comes Armor of Shadow, which unlocks at character level 2. This Eldritch Invocation grants you the Mage Armor Spell, and you will be able to use it without expanding any spell slot. This spell grants you 13 Armor Class + your DEX modifier, but it can only be used if you are not wearing any armor at all.
4. Sculptor of Flesh

Unlocking at Warlock’s level 7, Sculptor of Flesh, enables you to cast the Polymorph spell by using a spell slot. This spell allows you to transform your enemies into harmless sheep for the next five turns.
The downside to this spell is that if you kill the sheep, the enemy will revert to its original shape and HP. Polymorph spell gives you a brief window to buff, heal, and plan for the next move.
3. Repelling Blast
At level 2, you should get this Eldritch Invocation for your Warlock. When you use Eldritch Blast, it will damage the opponents and push them back 4.5m. This will help you take control of the battlefield, and you can push opponents from a hill if you are in this kind of situation. You can also use this with spells that slow down enemies to devastate their ranks in a matter of seconds.
2. Agonizing Blast
A must-have Eldritch Invocation, which unlocks at level 2. This invocation significantly increases the damage of the Eldritch Blast. Your character’s Charisma ability improves the damage you deal with Eldritch Blast if you use Agonizing Blast invocation. Eldritch Blast is the strongest and our favorite cantrip from the game. You can wreak havoc on the enemies when combined with additional attack power from Agonizing Blast.
1. Lifedrinker
As an endgame unlock at level 12, the Lifedrinker is, in my opinion, the best Eldritch Invocation. It deals extra necrotic damage to the enemies, equal to your Charisma modifier. The Necrotic damage will drain life from those who attack you.
The only downside of using Lifedrinker is that you won’t be able to multiclass your Warlock. To unlock this invocation, you need to reach Warlock’s level 12.
