Longest Harry Potter Books in Order # 3: Goblet of Fire

The Goblet of Fire is the third longest Harry Potter book. It’s like a literary marathon, except instead of running, you’re turning pages and running into Dobby everywhere.

At 734 pages about the cursed child, this fourth Harry Potter book is almost as long as Hermione’s (and my own) reading list. But don’t worry, it’s not all homework and studying. No, the Goblet of Fire has something for everyone – dragons, mermaids, the Triwizard Tournament, and the Yule Ball, where all our favorite Hogwarts students try to navigate the awkwardness of teenage romance while wearing fancy dress robes.

Don’t use it as a pillow, though. Trust me, I’ve tried it before, (not on purpose!), and waking up to an imprint of Harry Potter on my face was not my finest moment.

So if you’re looking for a book that will keep you entertained for days on end, look no further than The Goblet of Fire. It’s got action, adventure, and even a litle bit of romance. Plus, it’s a great way to brush up on your spells and potions knowledge – you never know when you might need to summon a fire-breathing dragon or brew a batch of polyjuice potion.

Longest Harry Potter Books in Order # 4: Half-Blood Prince

Ah, the Half-Blood Prince – the fourth longest and my favorite harry potter book. It’s like a giant tome of wizarding knowledge, except instead of a boring old textbook, it’s filled with potions, spells, and more teenage love, longing, and craziness than you can shake a wand at.

At 652 pages, this sixth harry potter book is almost as thick as Hagrid’s beard. But don’t worry, you won’t need a bezoar to get through it. Just grab a cauldron cake and settle in for a wild ride.

In this book, we get to see a darker side of Hogwarts as Voldemort’s influence spreads and Harry delves deeper into the mystery of the Horcruxes. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of laughs to be had – especially when Ron starts dating Lavender Brown and Hermione starts getting jealous.

And who can forget about the Half-Blood Prince himself, Snape? Is he a villain or a hero? Does he have a heart or is it just a big black void? These are the questions that keep us up at night – well, that and wondering why Filch has so many cats.

So grab your wand and get ready for some serious magic – the Half-Blood Prince is waiting for you. Just be sure to keep a vial of Felix Felicis handy, because with a book this long, you’re going to need all the luck you can get.

Longest Harry Potter Books in Order # 5: Chamber of Secrets

The Chamber of Secrets – the second Harry Potter book that introduced us to the wonders of polyjuice potion, flying cars, and a giant snake that can petrify people with its gaze. At a meh 352 pages, it’s the fifth-longest Harry Potter book – or as Gilderoy Lockhart would say, “It’s a meager tome compared to my autobiography.”

In this book, Harry and Ron are up to their usual shenanigans, sneaking around Hogwarts and trying to solve the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets. But when Hermione gets petrified and the whole school is in danger, things get serious.

Thankfully, we have the ever-resourceful Harry to save the day, along with the help of Ron, Ginny, and even Dobby the house elf. Plus, we get to see a young Tom Riddle in all his manipulative, creepy glory – he’s like a mini Voldemort, but with better hair.

So settle in for a wild ride through the Chamber of Secrets. Just be sure to watch out for rogue bludgers and basilisks – they can really ruin your day. And if all else fails, just remember: when in doubt, follow the spiders.

Longest Harry Potter Books in Order # 6: Prisoner of Azkaban

The Prisoner of Azkaban is the third book in the Harry Potter series and the sixth-longest of them all. Clocking in at 317 pages, it’s a true heavyweight in the wizarding world.

In this book, Harry returns to Hogwarts for his third year, only to discover that notorious wizarding criminal Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban prison and is on the loose. But who is he after? And why does Harry keep seeing a mysterious black dog everywhere he goes?

With the help of his trusty friends Ron and Hermione, Harry sets out to uncover the truth behind Black’s escape and clear the name of an innocent man. Along the way, he learns about the dark history of the wizarding world and encounters some truly bizarre creatures – including a hippogriff named Buckbeak and a swarm of dementors.

But the real standout of this book is the introduction of the Marauder’s Map – a magical document that shows the location of everyone in Hogwarts. With this handy tool, Harry and his friends are able to sneak around the castle and get into all sorts of mischief. Just don’t get caught by Professor Snape – he’s not exactly the forgiving type.

So if you’re looking for a book that’s full of action, adventure, and a healthy dose of teenage angst, look no further than The Prisoner of Azkaban. Just be sure to have some chocolate on hand for when those dementors come around – trust us, it’s the only thing that will make you feel better.

Longest Harry Potter Books in Order # 7: Sorcerer’s Stone

Ah, the first Harry Potter book that started it all – The Sorcerer’s Stone (or The Philosopher’s Stone for our friends across the pond). The first and shortest Harry Potter book has 309 pages and is the seventh-longest book in the Harry Potter series. It’s like a baby book compared to previous books, but hey, we all have to start somewhere.

In this book, we’re introduced to a young, bespectacled Harry Potter on Privet Drive, who’s just learning about his magical heritage and Hagrid’s infamous quote: “Yer a wizard, Harry”. He’s whisked away to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he makes new friends, learns spells, and discovers a secret plot to steal the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Along the way, he battles trolls, plays a game of wizard chess, and encounters the mysterious Nicolas Flamel. And let’s not forget about the infamous troll in the girls’ bathroom – that was a messy situation, to say the least.

But the real highlight of the shortest book is the friendship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione. They may have their differences, but when it comes down to it, they’ll do anything to protect each other. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be part of the trio that takes down Voldemort – not once, but seven times?

So if you’re looking for a book that’s equal parts magic and mischief, look no further than The Sorcerer’s Stone. Just be sure to watch out for Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans – trust me, you don’t want to end up with a booger-flavored one.

Longest Harry Potter books in order: Harry Potter Movies

Ooh, I absolutely love the Harry Potter movies – a chance for us Muggles to see our favorite wizarding world brought to life on the big screen. But let’s be real, as much as we love them, we also love to nitpick all the things they got wrong. I have to admit, though, they got a lot of things right, which is more than I can say about other movie adaptations.

When it comes to the longest Harry Potter books in order, the movie adaptations have some serious ground to cover. With the shortest book (Philosopher’s Stone) coming in at just over 300 pages, and the longest (Order of the Phoenix) at a whopping 870 pages, it’s no wonder the filmmakers had to make some cuts.

Some of the changes were minor – like cutting out Nearly Headless Nick’s Deathday Party in Chamber of Secrets. Others were more significant – like leaving out the entire subplot of SPEW in Goblet of Fire. And don’t even get us started on the omission of the Quidditch World Cup in the same book.

But perhaps the biggest change of all came in the adaptation of Half-Blood Prince. In the book, we learn about Voldemort’s past through a series of memories that Dumbledore has collected. In the movie, however, they decided to condense all those memories into one overly dramatic scene with lots of fire and explosions. Because who needs subtlety, right?

Despite all these changes (and let’s be honest, some of them were necessary for time constraints), we still can’t help but love the Harry Potter movies. They may not be perfect, but they’re still magical in their own way. And let’s not forget the amazing performances from the likes of Alan Rickman, Emma Watson, and of course, the one and only Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall.

Ranking The Harry Potter Books

Longest Harry Potter Books and The Wizarding World Beyond: Fantastic Beasts

Calling all Potterheads! Did you think the wizarding world was limited to just seven books? Think again! The Fantastic Beasts series takes us on a wild journey through the magical world beyond Hogwarts, with spin-off movies that explore new characters, creatures, and adventures. Besides the Lord of the Rings series, IMHO these are the only book adaptation series where the movies are great!

So grab your wand, hop on your broomstick, and dive into the fantastical world of Fantastic Beasts, and Where to Find Them all while lounging on your couch in your pajamas. It doesn’t get much better than that! If you can’t find the movie to stream, here is the audiobook for you!

So how many words in all? The entire Harry Potter series – 1,084,170 words! Happy reading!
