As technology progresses, more and more amenities join the standard features list on vehicles. Most of these features are designed to increase comfort for drivers and passengers, which increases the quality of the drive. Honda works diligently to provide the most comfortable and efficient ride for its drivers, which makes them come back time and time again for their newest vehicles.

The Honda Accord provides an exceptionally luxurious experience at an affordable price point. One of the convenient features that this sedan provides is remote engine start. This means that drivers may start their vehicle before actually getting inside. Bryan Honda in Fayetteville, North Carolina is here to let you know exactly which Accord models provide this feature.

Benefits of Remote Start

When you utilize the remote engine start feature on your vehicle, you have the ability to turn on the engine without ever stepping foot into the vehicle. Remote start allows the driver to create a more comfortable atmosphere in their vehicle. The climate control system will adjust to the outdoor temperature and heat up or cool down the interior of the vehicle. This is exceptionally helpful during the middle of the frigid winter or sweltering summer. After all, nobody enjoys shivering in their vehicle during their morning commute – or sweating while driving in the summer sun.

In addition to your own personal comfort, giving your vehicle a moment to warm up is actually beneficial to the engine. When the engine has time to warm up the oil, it provides better lubrication throughout the motor. Not only will your vehicle sound better, it will also perform better.

If you have concerns about the safety of remote start, do not worry. Your vehicle will stay locked until you approach it with the key fob. Nobody will be able to get into the car while it sits with remote start on. Additionally, the remote start has a timer on it so it will not continuously run forever if you forget you started it. Most vehicles have a remote run-time of up to thirty minutes before it turns off.

Tenth Generation Accord

The tenth generation of the Honda Accord is the newest available generation. It began with the 2018 year of this sedan. However, in 2021, the Accord received a facelift in the style of a new grille and wheel design, as well as new LED headlights. The previously optional 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system became a standard feature, and along with that touchscreen comes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

With the facelift, the Accord lost the EX trim and manual transmission in trade for the new Sport Special Edition. Thanks to all of the upgrades during the 2021 facelift, the 2022 model of the Accord did not provide any major changes.

The tenth generation of the Honda Accord offers remote start as standard on the Touring and EX-L trims for every year.

Ninth Generation Accord

From 2013 through 2017 marked the ninth generation of the Honda Accord. This generation also revealed a facelift mid-generation, in 2016. With a new grille and rear bumper, as well as the addition of LED lights, the Accord looked nearly unrecognizable. On the inside, the cabin received a new available 7-inch touchscreen on higher trims. Additionally, SiriusXM Radio became available for the first time, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This generation of the Accord provides three engine options for the front-wheel drive sedan. All of these options provide a peppy ride. Additionally, the ninth generation of the Accord still offers the manual transmission option that we lost during the tenth generation.

Remote start is available on the Touring and EX-L trims of the Accord. In the beginning of the generation, this feature was optional on the two top trims, while it became standard on both options during the 2016 facelift.

Eighth Generation Accord

The eighth generation of the Honda Accord ran for five years – 2008 through 2012. The Accord could be purchased in a four-door or coupe option, and this option continued for generations to come. While the ninth generation provided three engine options, the eighth generation produced only two options. The more powerful engine of the two provided 271 horsepower.

The eighth generation of the Honda Accord was larger than the seventh generation, including its larger than ever interior space. The vehicle itself is almost three inches longer, and an inch wider and taller.

Some of the newest available features for the eighth generation of the Accord included an available auto-dimming mirror and an available audio system subwoofer. Bluetooth became standard on select trims. The 2011 model received the mid-generation facelift this time with cosmetic changes both inside and out. It also improved the vehicle’s overall fuel economy and included the backup camera on select models.

The eighth generation of the Honda Accord offers a remote engine start feature on the EX-L and EX trims. This feature is only available as an option on these trims. Remote start does not become standard until midway through the ninth generation.
