There were a lot of things that happened in the somewhat short six-episode first season of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. But one of the scenes that caught the attention of fans was the final fight, which was between Ahsoka and an Inquisitor. However, the problem was that this wasn’t an Inquisitor that fans were quite familiar with, especially considering that most Inquisitors have already been accounted for. So, which Inquisitor did Ahsoka kill in Tales of the Jedi episode 6?

It is possible that the Inquisitor that Ahsoka killed was an entirely new Inquisitor that we haven’t seen before in the past. That’s because, while we have seen ten Inquisitors (12 including the comic books) already, we aren’t sure if there are actually only ten of them that Darth Vader employed.

One of the things that we know about Lucasfilm is that it works hard to make sure that everything about the canon movies and series fits the already-established continuity of Star Wars. In that regard, the Inquisitor in Tales of the Jedi was there for a reason and had his own identity. So, with that said, let’s look at some of the possibilities regarding the identity of this Inquisitor.

Who Are The Inquisitors?

Throughout the entire lore of Star Wars, we have seen a lot of different characters that are capable of wielding the Force and are pretty gifted at it. Of course, when we look at the Force, we often see two sides: the Jedi and the Sith. But the thing is that, after the fall of the Jedi Order during the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, it was important for the Sith to make sure that the Jedi would never become a threat again. That was when the Inquisitorius was established.

The Inquisitorius is a group that’s composed of Force-sensitive individuals that were recruited by Darth Vader to round up and kill all of the remaining Jedi throughout the galaxy. There were even instances where they were called to actually look for other Force-sensitive individuals to make sure that they would never become threats to the Empire. And the individuals that were part of this group were called the Inquisitors.

As mentioned, the job of the Inquisitors was to use their Force powers to look for any of the Jedi that may have survived the events of Order 66. Most of these Inquisitors were actually Jedi themselves but were turned by Darth Vader to the Dark Side through fear and intimidation. However, the Inquisitors are not Sith because there can only be two members of the Sith at any given time. Instead, the Inquisitors are fallen Jedi or are Force users that belong to the Dark Side.

Throughout the many different Star Wars movies, series, and games that were released after the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm, we have seen quite a number of Inquisitors already. They are led by the Grand Inquisitor, who was one of the main enemies of the Star Wars: Rebels series. However, there have been a total of nine Inquisitors that we have seen working under the Grand Inquisitor in series, books, and games, such as Star Wars: Rebels, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. And if we were to include the two unnamed Inquisitors that were shown in the Darth Vader comic book, then there are a total of 12 Inquisitors.

The Inquisitors have designations that correspond to their gender and to the number given to them. For example, the Second Sister is the name given to one of the Inquisitors because she’s a woman, and she’s probably the second to join the Inquisitorius.

Which Inquisitor Did Ashoka Kill In Tales Of The Jedi?

Now that you know more about the Inquisitors, let’s go back to Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. In episode 6, we saw that Ahsoka was forced to use her Force powers, and that was the reason why she was discovered. An Inquisitor came to the agricultural planet she was hiding in, and they were forced to fight, with Ahsoka winning decisively. But who was the Inquisitor that Ahsoka killed in Tales of the Jedi?

Sixth Brother

The first suspect on our list is the Sixth Brother. That’s because he was the first Inquisitor that Ahsoka met in the Ahsoka novel. However, the Sixth Brother was never shown in any television show or video game. Still, he was always regarded as one of the Inquisitors that were trained by Darth Vader himself.

During this time, Ahsoka was hiding on a planet called Thabeska. But the problem was that the Sixth Brother had been tracking her the entire time, and that was when a confrontation between them happened. Ahsoka defeated him without even fighting, as she used her Force powers to overload the Kyber crystal in his lightsaber. The explosion killed the Sixth Brother, and Ahsoka used his Kyber crystal to forge her iconic white lightsabers.

While it should still be possible that the Sixth Brother is the same Inquisitor that we saw in Tales of the Jedi, the thing is that they don’t look the same. Moreover, the events of the Ahsoka novel differ from the events of episode 6 of Tales of the Jedi, even though certain circumstances may be similar. Still, because Dave Filoni probably wanted a more dramatic way of retelling Ahsoka’s story, he might have changed the Sixth Brother’s appearance and the way that he was defeated.

Tenth Brother

While the Sixth Brother is the primary suspect that most people have on their list, the Tenth Brother is also a suspect. Formerly known as Prosset Dibs, the Tenth Brother was a Jedi Knight that actually served in the Clone Wars. But during the Clone Wars, he lost faith in the Jedi Order because he didn’t think that it was consistent with the job he was given as a general working under the Republic to fight the Separatists.

As such, Dibs returned to the Jedi Temple and attempted to kill Mace Windu. He was put on trial and was supposed to be given the death penalty. But Windu requested rehabilitation for him instead. That is why, after Order 66, he was one of the first Jedi that Vader recruited to join his Inquisitorius, as he already had a falling out with the Jedi Order prior to its fall.

So, going back to our point regarding the Inquisitor in Tales of the Jedi, the reason why we could be the Tenth Brother is the fact that the mysterious Inquisitor was able to recognize Ahsoka and even believed her to be dead. This means that he had some sort of knowledge regarding Ahsoka back when he was still with the Jedi Order.

One Of The First Inquisitors

While we have seen ten Inquisitors in the books, series, and games (12 if including the Darth Vader comics), the thing about the Inquisitorius is that we don’t really know how many of them actually work for Vader. There has never been a clear number in relation to how many Inquisitors there are.

But judging from the fact that episode 6 of Tales of the Jedi happened shortly after Order 66, it is possible that this Inquisitor that Ahsoka killed was one of the first Inquisitors that Vader recruited early during the purge of the Jedi. He might not have a number designation, but it is possible that he might be one of the Brothers with a double-digit numerical designation.
