With so many products on the market it can be difficult to pick the right upright walker simply by looking at pictures online. Often the differences between a great walker and a dangerous one are quite subtle. Here are some of the things we looked at when considering which products to review in-depth.
Stable Design
The most important feature of an upright walker is a design with a stable base, correct weight distribution, and low centre of gravity. Because you rest your forearms on the walker your natural center of gravity is higher than with a traditional walker. This means you need an upright rollator walker with a slightly longer and wider wheelbase to compensate, otherwise you risk tipping the walker over when you hit a bump in the road.
