We’re talking about the popular and much-loved collection of Pueblo Bonito resorts in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!
Pueblo Bonito resorts, Los Cabos
There are four Pueblo Bonito Cabo resorts.
And as frequent visitors to the trendy beach destination at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, we’re often asked: Which is the best Pueblo Bonito resort in Cabo?
We’ve now stayed at all four Pueblo Bonito Cabo resorts.
The most recent resort stay was at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa.
Each time we visit Los Cabos, we also usually pop into the two Pueblo Bonito hotels on Medano Beach – just to check them out again (and smell that wonderful scent that perfumes the lobby).
The fourth Pueblo Bonito resort in Cabo – the Pacifica (where we’ve also stayed) – is a bit different.
That’s exclusively all-inclusive and for adults only. So we haven’t included it here in these Pueblo Bonito reviews.

What’s the best Pueblo Bonito resort in Cabo?
As for the other three Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos hotels (Blanco, Rose and Sunset Beach), here are our reviews.
You’ll find our pick for the best Pueblo Bonito resort in Cabo San Lucas at the end.
1) Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos
Built in 1991, the Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos was the first of the four Pueblo Bonito hotels in Cabo.
Mediterranean-inspired, the gleaming white property is topped with blue tile cupolas.
Dubbed “Blanco” (to distinguish it from the Pueblo Bonito Rose next door), it has 148 ocean-view suites, from studios (Junior suites) to 1-bedroom units (with 1 or 2 bathrooms) to penthouse suites.
Suites
Luxury suites are 750 sq. ft. in size. Master suites are corner units, and they’re a little larger than Luxury suites.
The bedrooms don’t face the ocean, however (living rooms do though).
All suites are pretty and soothing, however.
They’re decorated with white stucco walls, light blue decorative accents, big live potted palms and kitchen cabinets that are dark blue (for junior and luxury suites) or creamy yellow (for master suites).
Beautiful cappuccino-colored marble floors are inlaid with white tiles, bordered with blue and yellow tiles in a wave pattern.
The Mediterranean meets Mexico
Outside, koi and turtle pools and parakeet cages grace gardens on either side of the resort’s lobby doors opening onto the beach outside.
Location
The Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos “Blanco” is located right on Medano Beach, one of the best swimmable beaches in Los Cabos.

Go for a dip in the sea, then sip lime margaritas, pina coladas and other popular beach drinks under the shade of an umbrella on the sand.
2) Pueblo Bonito Rose
Marble busts of Roman emperors. Florentine columns. A tall statue of Neptune standing over a blue-tile reflecting pool.
You almost expect toga-clad nobles to be padding about. The Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort & Spa is that Romanesque in feel.
But then, to mix it up a bit, the interior decorators hung Flemish tapestries on the walls of the marble-floor lobby.
Suites
Among the 260 suites are studios (Junior suites) and 1-and 2-bedroom units.
They all have kitchenettes (no ovens), TV’s, balconies and red Mexican tile floors.
Suites are larger than at the Blanco next door.
And, unlike the Blanco, bedrooms in the 1-bedroom Rose units (Luxury and Master suites) face the ocean and long inner courtyard with pool.
Pretty in pink
Pink and rose colors predominate.
There are pink pool and beach chairs, and a pink-hued spa offers massage, facials and other beauty treatments.
Fitness buffs have a good gym they can use, especially helpful to work off those extra calories gained from creamy take-out cakes sold in the resort’s deli.
Location
Pueblo Bonito Rose reviews on TripAdvisor and elsewhere usually always point out the prime location of the Rose (and Blanco).
Like the Blanco, the Rose is right on Medano Beach.
And we especially like that you can walk to town to try out various restaurants for dinner without having to bother with getting a taxi all the time.
3) Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach
You enter the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort through a grand marble lobby, decorated with chandeliers, oversized colonial Mexican furniture and 17th and 18th century art.
Suites
Beyond the lobby, hacienda-style villas cascade down a hillside toward the Pacific Ocean.
They house 635 suites in different sizes, each appointed with kitchenettes, marble baths, cedar woodwork and feather-top beds.
And they’re gorgeous.
Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach restaurants
The Mexican-inspired LaFrida is perhaps our favorite dinner restaurant.
Mexican food fact: Don’t think just tacos and burritos. Mexican food can be very complex and creative at a fine dining establishment.
A grand hacienda feel
Just be prepared to walk a lot among the flower gardens, waterfalls, and fountains (or call for a golf buggy ride).
At 50 acres (and with no less than six outdoor pools), the Pueblo Bonito Sunset resort is a big property!
For a little pampering, visit the Armonia Spa.
It’s been voted Mexico’s No. 1 “top hotel spa” on Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best List; Condé Nast has also named it one of the top 20 best spas in Mexico and Central America.
Try the hot desert stone massage – 80 minutes of bliss.

Location
Be forewarned that this resort does not front a swimming beach; most Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach reviews will note this.
If you check out the map above, you’ll see that the resort is located on Cabo’s Pacific Ocean side. The waves here can be killer-high and a strong undertow makes swimming deadly most of the time.
But you can take the free Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach shuttle to Medano Beach, in front of the Blanco and Rose resorts, and use their beach facilities. (See below for info on the resort shuttle.)

Pueblo Bonito resort shuttle
As a guest at any PB resort, you can use the free shuttle, which takes you to other Pueblo Bonito resorts.

The shuttle leaves every hour, on the half hour, until 10:30 pm. There’s also an extra 6:00 pm shuttle.

All-inclusive Pueblo Bonito resort option
The Blanco, Rose and Sunset Beach resorts all offer an all-inclusive option.

Pueblo Bonito restaurants
As a guest at the Pueblo Bonito Blanco, Rose or Sunset Beach, you can dine around at any of their restaurants.
If you’re on an all-inclusive plan, some restaurants have an additional surcharge.
Best Pueblo Bonito Resort, Cabo?
The suites are certainly the grandest. And we like the restaurants better at Sunset Beach (especially LaFrida). And you can choose to chill by a different pool for every day of the week (except one).
Still… We think Blanco is the best Pueblo Bonito resort in Cabo San Lucas. It’s our personal favorite.
Why?
It’s more intimate.
It has a sweet location on a great swimming beach.
And you can easily walk everywhere, from the beach and pool and back to your room. (If you get to the beach, then discover you’ve forgotten your sunglasses in your room, it’s not a hardship to walk back and retrieve them – no buggy ride needed).
Another plus: You’re close to town, just a short walk away. So you have the flexibility of eating out at local restaurants.
