Which Statement Best Describes The Purpose Of A Filibuster

Yes. The United States was justified to enter World War II following the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Before we can answer whether or not the US was justified joining the war, we must understand why the US did not join the war before Pearl Harbor.

1) The U.S had a mixed population, which is why the United States is commonly known as a “immigrant country”, for the population is essentially made up of immigrants as well as their descendants. Descendants of both side’s countries wanted the US to join their respective side, and that is why the U.S. decided to stay neutral.

2) The Policy of Isolation: The US, because of reasons stated on the top, decided to follow the policy of isolation, in which they would mind their business, and would not meddle in world business as long as it did not affect the US. However, this did not work from the get-go. Even before the policy, the US followed a policy of imperialism, and extended territory and statehood far and wide outside the Continent of North America. Already this projected the US to be a regional power. However, the U.S. public followed this policy closely, and would not drop it until the end of World War II.

Justification for the war started even back in the 1920s, following the attack of the Empire of Japan on the US allies in China and the islands, as well as later on with Germany breaking the rules of agreement in the Treaty of Versailles, which forbid Germany of the Rhine, territorial expansion, and also the building up of the Germany armed forces. All of these were broken, and with the invasion of U.S. allies, the United States actually should have joined much sooner into the war. However, the US chose to stay out as long as possible, and the rest is history.

In the end, the US was justified in entering World War II not only because of the attack on their own sovereign land, but also the attacks on her allies in not only Europe, but also in Asia.
