Introduction

Nine passenger terminals are located around JFK International’s Central Terminal Area. The terminals and corresponding parking lots are divided into four color-coded sections. The green quadrant contains Terminals 1, 2, and 3; the blue quadrant Terminals 4E and 4W; the orange quadrant Terminals 5 (presently not in use), 6, and 7; and the red quadrant Terminals 8 and 9. This information is also posted on large, color-coded signs on the approach to the Central Terminal Area on both the Van Wyck and JFK Expressways. Terminal 1

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 1 serves Aeroflot, Aero Mexico, Air China, Air France, AirPlus Comet, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, Cayman Airways, China Airlines, China Eastern, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Olympic, Royal Air Maroc, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Turkish. It contains gates 1-11.

Terminal 2

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 2 serves Continental only. It contains gates 19-30.

Terminal 3

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 3 serves Comair, Delta, Delta Connection and US Helicopter. It contains gates 1-18.

Terminal 4 (4E and 4W)

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 4 serves Aer Lingus, Aerolineas Argentinas, AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines, Air India, Air Jamaica, Air Tahiti Nui, Allegro (Seasonal), Asiana, Avianca, Azteca, Biman Bangladesh, BWIA, Constellation, Continental, Continental Express, Corsair (seasonal), Copa Airlines, Czech Airlines, Egyptair, El Al, Emirates, EOS, Etihad, Eurofly, flyglobespan, Harmony, Israir, JetBlue (San Juan), KLM, Kuwait Airways, Lacsa, Lan Chile, Lan Ecuador, Lan Peru, LOT, LTU, Mexicana, Miami Air (charter), North American, Northwest, Pakistan International Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways,Sun Country, Swiss International, Air Lines, TACA International, TAM, Thai Airways Int’l, Travel Span, USA 3000, Uzbekistan, VARIG, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic and Zoom Airlines.

Terminal 5

Terminal 5 is presently not in use.

Terminal 6

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 6 serves only JetBlue. It contains gates 1-17.

Terminal 7

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 7 serves Air Canada, ANA – All Nippon, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, Icelandair, United Airlines and US Airways – America West . It contains gates 1-12.

Terminal 8

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 8 serves American, American Eagle, Finnair, Jet Airways, Malev Hungarian and SN Brussels Airlines. It contains gates 1-24.

Terminal 9

John F Kennedy Airport’s Terminal 9 serves American – domestic, Puerto Rico, & some international American Eagle. It contains gates 40-49.

Shopping

Duty Free At John F Kennedy International Airport, World Duty Free shops are found in Terminals 2, 3, and 7. In addition to this, a duty-free shop is also found in Terminal 4, together with international shops with duty-free products in Terminals 1, 8, and 9.

Gift Shops All terminals at John F Kennedy International Airport feature many shops offering a wide range of products for travelers. American Clothier, Hudson News, Shades, DKNY, The Brew Store, Brookstone, and Spellbound Silver Music are among the many shops found at John F Kennedy International Airport.

Restaurants and Bars

Travelers can enjoy a wide variety of dining options at John F Kennedy International Airport. The many restaurants and bars at the airport include Gourmet Gift Food, McDonald’s, Euro Café, Burger King, Starbucks, The Grove, Eurasia Coffee House, and Shannon’s Bar.

Business Services

Internet Access As an extra indulgence for travelers, facilities for Internet access can be found in Terminals 8 and 9.

Currency Exchange and ATMs

Foreign Exchange Desks Travelex offers currency exchange facilities for travelers in all terminals with the exception of Terminal 1, which features ICE / American Express currency exchange facilities.

Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) For the convenience of travelers, ATMs are located in every terminal at the John F Kennedy International Airport.

Shops and Restaurants

Terminal 1 This terminal boasts a wide range of retail stores from Cartier and Clinique to Time Flies and Toy Store. The majority of retail outlets are post-security (including duty free) with news stands pre and post-security.

Restaurants, snack bar and food outlets available in this Terminal include: McDonald’s, Starbucks, Wok and Roll and Idlewild Wine Bar. There are more outlets available pre-security than post-security.

Terminal 2 There is a news stand pre-security but otherwise all the shops are post-security.

Restaurants, snack bar and food outlets available in this Terminal include: Balducci’s, Legend’s Sports Bar, Starbucks and Wendy’s. Starbucks is the only dining outlet available pre-security.

Terminal 3 Relay News operates pre-security but the rest of the retail outlets, including Brookstone, Sony and Sunglass Hut, are post-security.

Restaurants, snack bar and food outlets available in this Terminal include: Burger King, Ciao, Dunkin’Donuts and Sam Adams Brewhouse. There are more dining options available post-security than pre-security.

Terminal 4 Retail stores in this terminal include Bijoux Terner, Fossil, Life is Good and Music Express with the majority of outlets located pre-security.

Au Bon Pain, Fuel Bar, KFC Express and Sbarro are some of the restaurants, snack bar and food outlets available in this Terminal. There are slightly more eating and drinking options available pre-security.

Terminal 5 In pre-security the only stores are Best Buy Zoom Shop, Blue Sky Traders and CNBC News with the rest of the outlets – including Borders, Duty Free and Lacoste – post-security.

5ive Steak, Away Cafe, Deep Blue Sushi and Fresh Italian Pasta are some of the many restaurants and dining outlets in this terminal. There are significantly more eating and drinking options available post-security.

Terminal 7 There is a Hudson News stand pre-security but all other retail stores are post-security, including Brookstone, InMotion Entertainment and Mindworks.

Restaurants, snack bar and food outlets available in this Terminal include McDonald’s, Starbucks and Subway. Starbucks and Subway are the only eating/drinking outlets available pre-security.

Terminal 8 In this terminal there are more stores post-security than pre-security, they include iS Style, Landau, L’Occitane and Oakley. Hudson News has a stand pre-security.

Terminal 8 has a number of different eating and dining options, from Au Bon Pain and Auntie Anne’s to O’Neal’s Restaurant and Vino Volo Wine Room. There is a wider range of restaurants, bars etc. post-security than pre-security.

New York John F Kennedy Airport has cash machines and currency exchanges throughout its eight terminals, as detailed in the list below:

The Business Center at JFK Airport is in Terminal 4 (pre-security) on the Mezzanine East level.

Priority Pass These lounges are part of an international company that has lounges in airports around the world. At New York JFK they are based in Terminals 1, 4 and 7.

Airline Lounges The following lounges are available for passengers with the relevant tickets: American Airlines Admirals Club, British Airways First Lounge, British Airways Terraces Lounge, Delta Crown Room Club, Korean Air KAL Lounge, Lufthansa Senator Lounge, United Airlines Red Carpet Club and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed at New York JFK Airport.
