If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas it can be hard to pick a hotel because there are so many hotels in Las Vegas to choose from. And we’re not just talking about ordinary hotels. We’re talking about some of the most spectacular hotels in the world! There’s a lot of money in Vegas and a lot of money has been spent on the hotels. As they say, ‘everything’s bigger in Vegas’ and that includes the hotels.
Thankfully for me I didn’t have to make the tough decision on where to stay in Vegas. That decision was made for me. You see, I was going to Vegas with the purpose of ‘babysitting my mum’. She just loves me for saying that!

My step dad John is in the car cleaning business and every year in November there is a big car show in Vegas that he likes to attend. The first year he went alone but for his second visit he wanted to stay a few extra days to explore Vegas and wanted my mum to come with him. They invited me to come along as well as John would be occupied with the show for 4 days and wanted me to keep my mum company on those days.
Having a daughter who loves to travel, they knew I would love to join them in Vegas. But since I was booking later than them, the prices on their flight had gone up quite a bit. So John very kindly booked me a room in the same hotel as them as a thank you for coming along. Not only was it a very generous gesture, it saved me the trouble of trying to decide between the incredible hotels in Vegas.
About The Signature at MGM Grand
The Signature consists of 3 condo style towers that are part of the MGM Grand Hotel. A great reason to stay at The Signature at MGM Grand is because they offer luxury suites rather than normal hotel rooms. Now before you start worrying The Signature is out of your price range, the suites are actually affordable starting at $156 a night. And that’s the price with tax and resort fee included.
Each tower has 576 suites so across the 3 towers there are 1,728 suites waiting to be enjoyed by visitors. Some of these suites have been sold to rent out. You can find some suites available on Airbnb and these will be minus the resort fee, however, they won’t have cleaners so keep in that in mind when booking.
The Location
While technically not on the Las Vegas strip, The Signature will quite often be referred to as one of the ‘Strip Hotels’. The place has a more secluded entrance just around the corner from the Las Vegas Strip but is still connected to The MGM Grand via a 10 minute walkway.
The way the towers are positioned there are two different views to have. One side of the building is facing the airport. If you’ve never been to Las Vegas before the airport is incredibly close to The Strip. Rooms on the other side of the Tower are slightly more expensive but totally worth it in my opinion as you’ll get stunning views of The Strip.
The Room
I was staying in Tower 2 in one of the Deluxe Suites with a balcony view of The Strip. This was my first trip to Las Vegas, so having a room with a view of The Strip was fantastic for me. My first view of The Strip came from my private balcony and since we didn’t arrive until 9pm it meant I got to see it all lit up which was an incredible moment for me.
The Deluxe Suites are 550 square foot in size so there is plenty of space. Each suite has a king sized bed which is extremely comfortable, especially the pillows. Opposite the bed is a 42″ flat screen HD TV.

There is also a dedicated seating area as well as a full kitchenette. In the kitchenette you’ll find a microwave, toaster, sink and 2 stove tops. The cupboards are not sticked with pots or pans but these are available on request if you want to cook in your suite.
With some many incredible restaurants in Vegas I didn’t actually use the kitchenette during my stay, however, the coffee machine did get a lot of use. And of course so did the kettle because I’m British and always travel with tea bags. Don’t judge me! Plus the mini fridge was perfect for storing drinks.
Throughout the room you’ll find hi speed wifi that worked perfectly for me. In the wardrobe there is a decent sized safe to keep your possessions secure. I was able to fit my laptop, camera, kindle, GoPro, Osmo Pocket, Ipod, passport and spare money with no problems.
The Bathroom
Because I didn’t book the room myself I wasn’t sure exactly what I was getting until I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the bathroom and it quickly became my favourite place in the hotel. Not Something I say often!
As well as having a walk in shower, there was a whirlpool spa tub that I got plenty of use out of during my stay and fell in love with. After a long flight from London that whirlpool was certainly appreciated!
There was even a small TV in the bathroom so while relaxing in the whirlpool you can watch TV. Although I preferred enjoying my time in the whirlpool tub with music, it was nice to have the option to watch TV.
The bathroom also had a very fancy looking marble and granite work top with dual sinks. I can imagine for couples it would be nice to have separate sinks. I decided to make on of them my morning sink and the other my evening sink. Just because I could!
The Amenities
At The Signature there is a lounge bar, a small deli and a Starbucks. There is a state of the art fitness centre in the lobby of Tower 1 and Tower 3 that is open 24/7, although I did not use either during my stay.
Each Tower also has its own heated pool with poolside cocktail service. Guests will also receive free towels to use at the pool.
The Signature does not have a casino but guests are also welcome to use the facilities at MGM Grand. The two are connected by a short walkway.

As well as the casino and surrounding restaurants, guests are welcome to use the pool and spa facilities at the MGM Grand. The pools are bigger and there is a small shop if you need a swim suit.
The Price
I was in Las Vegas for a total of 7 nights and all of them were spent staying at The Signature at MGM Grand.
It’s worth noting that because this is an American hotel if you book via their website the price shown will be just for the room. There will also be tax added on plus resort fees. This is standard for hotels in Las Vegas.
My room was booked through Booking.com and on this site you’ll get the full price of your stay. You’ll pay a small deposit at the time of booking and then the rest upon arrival. For my 7 nights that was $1,824 which is roughly $260 per night. This was for a Deluxe suite with a balcony view of The Strip. Cheaper suites are available with no balcony or with an airport view.
Getting Around Las Vegas
The Location of The Signature at MGM Grand makes it so easy to get around and explore Las Vegas. If you use the walkway to MGM Grand (10 minute walk) and exit from there you’ll find yourself right smack on the Las Vegas Strip, just opposite the New York New York.
If you want to quickly get further down the Las Vegas Strip the monorail starts at the MGM Grand. That’s why The Signature is a great location if you’re coming to Vegas for a show like we were because of this monorail stop. If you’ve ever been to Las Vegas when a convention is on you’ll know how busy the monorail can get. Being at the first stop means it’s quicker to get on and you’re more likely going to be able to get a seat.
Of course the other option is to get around by Uber. Las Vegas is a city where you can only get an Uber from certain spots. The Signature car park at Tower 3 is on of those spots.
Overall Verdict
The Signature at MGM Grand was the perfect place to stay for my first trip to Las Vegas. The location was excellent. Right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, while still being a quiet spot. I was very pleased with my stunning suite. It was so spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. And of course that whirlpool jacuzzi was my favourite part where I spent every evening relaxing my feet after walking around Las Vegas.
