Who Assaulted Vanessa On Love Island

Following a shock double Dumping, Vanessa left the Love Island Australia Villa alongside Maurice. It came after a series of tumultuous spats with Matthew, who she was Coupled Up with. Speaking to 9Entertainment, Vanessa has revealed the source of friction with the Islander that left her “heartbroken.”

“Prior to Josh and Luke coming into the Villa everything was all daisies. I was friends with everyone. No one spoke badly of me.

“But then the minute Josh and Luke came in they started spreading things about me — calling me fame hunting, ingenuine,” she said, adding, “All the Islanders turned against me and Matt had heard untrue things about me. It was just not a good time to be saying goodbye.”

She revealed that much of her frustration stemmed from prior conversations, where the Couple had agreed that if one of them left, they would both leave.

“The minute that there was a bit of heat and the recoupling was mentioned, Matt sort of got a bit funny and I questioned him again if he would go home with me if I was to go home and he sort of kept avoiding the question,” said Vanessa.

On-air, Matthew had been voicing his doubts over his relationship following rumours circulating over Vanessa ‘playing the game,’ focusing on the idea that she was on Love Island Australia for fame, rather than love.

Much of Vanessa’s frustrations came down to Matthew trusting the concerns of other Islanders, and not “having her back.” She also suggested that rather than being concerned for her departure, Matthew was relieved to be staying in the Villa.

“He thought he was leaving the Villa,” said Vanessa. “He looked quite distraught but then the minute that Sophie Monk said sit back down he jumped up to join the Islanders.

“He wasn’t upset that I was going. He was happy to be staying back in the Villa.

“I do question how genuine he was. From my point of view I don’t really believe him but that was perspective verses everyone else,” Vanessa added.

Despite still having feelings for Matthew, and affirming that doesn’t regret Coupling Up with him, Vanessa currently has no plans to rekindle her connection with the Islander once he leaves the Villa.

“It’s really hard for me to say I’m going to cut him off but I just can’t do that to myself and put myself through another heartbreak,” she said.

“If he had left the Villa for me I would have been over the moon and it would have changed my thoughts on whether or not I thought he was ingenuine. It would have proven me wrong; but the fact that he was so happy to stay in the Villa it just confirmed everything.”

Having had rumours swirling around her for “playing the game,” Vanessa “questions” Luke and Josh’s motivations for going into the Love Island Australia Villa, while she affirmed that all the girls are “there for the right reasons.”
