A woman has revealed that she landed herself a date with her crush, who was none other than an Oscar-winning celebrity.

Writer and publicist Jillian Sanders revealed that she messaged her celebrity crush on Instagram and shockingly received a response from one of her “favorite Los Angeles-based comedian/podcast hosts/TV and film stars.” She told Today that she made her move after they posted a live video from a coffee shop down the street from her apartment in Denver, Colorado.

“You’re in Denver and I am such a huge fan of yours! I’ve listened to almost all of your podcasts, watched your series and, man, I feel like I just get you. Anyway, it oddly warms my heart to know you’re in the same city as me right now. Take care, Jillian,” she wrote in her message.

Later, the unnamed celebrity wrote back: “Thanks. The altitude is killing me.” Jillian then replied: “Easy on the caffeine and drink lots of water.”

Then following a closing message, she shot her shot again, writing: “What are you doing tomorrow? Let’s get together. Don’t you want to have a conversation with someone who isn’t famous?” to which her celebrity crush agreed.

She revealed that she had previously binge-watched his show and listened to more of his podcasts. She told Today: “Upon moving to Denver, I stumbled upon his TV series and binge-watched it over the course of two weeks.

“I loved his show, and started listening to more of his podcasts as a result. As I walked the streets of my new city with his voice regularly in my head, he began to feel like a friend.”

The pair met for iced teas and tacos and enjoyed three-hours of conversation, talking about her family and schooling. Afterwards, Jill was invited by the celebrity to his show that night and earned herself some front row seats.

After meeting with him back-stage she walked him back to his hotel, and he told her that he was “leaving the next morning for LA to attend a premiere the following evening for a big film he was in” and they never met again. However, over text he told her that he enjoyed the date but she knew nothing more would come of it.

“The next day, while looking at pictures of him in his tux at the movie premiere, surrounded by press and Oscar winners, I thought, ‘Ha, I know that guy!'” she told Today.
