The Bachelor franchise isn’t a stranger to wild claims, but this one seems to have people going crazy.

Leslie Fhima said on the first episode of The Golden Bachelor last week that she dated the late music icon, Prince. The 64-year-old casually incorporated in her introduction package that she was romantically linked to the Purple Rain singer in her youth. She also claimed his 1979 song, Sexy Dancer, was about her.

The casually mentioned ex-lover seemed to shock fans of the newest Bachelor spin-off. “I need to hear all about Leslie dating Prince,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“This woman is everything,” another person added. Someone else applauded the fitness instructor: “Oh, Leslie is A STAR, incorporating a comedy bit, lingerie, and the fact that she dated Prince and he wrote a song about her in her opening 20 seconds.”

But while there was praise, some social media users were ready to label Leslie as delusional. “Now Leslie, Prince did not write Sexy Dancer about you,” one person wrote.

“Yeah Leslie, you dated Prince and I dated Chris Evans,” someone wrote along with the ‘Sure Jan’ Brady Brunch sarcastic gif. Another said: “Leslie…keep Prince’s name out your mouth. You can barely dance ain’t no way Prince was with you.”

To back up his mother’s claims, Leslie’s son Eli did an interview with the Minnesota Star-Tribune where he spoke about his mother’s alleged love affair. Eli claimed that the former professional figure skater broke up with the singer in order to tour Europe with the Ice Follies ice skating troupe.

He added: “Not only did she date Prince, but she broke up with Prince.” Some fans though just think it’s hearsay or a story Leslie told her children, with one user writing: “I need a pic of Leslie with Prince or I don’t believe it.”

Leslie’s bio on the ABC website has no mention of a connection to Prince, but it does share that she’s scared of mice and is a former aerobics champion. It also states: “She has run 10 marathons and is looking for her running buddy for life. When she isn’t working at the gym, Leslie is an incredible mom to her three kids and “glama” to her three grandkids. She also loves spending time with her mini Aussiedoodle, Billie. Leslie is looking for a real man who will enhance her life, and she’s ready to put it all on the line to pursue love.”

Leslie was one of the 16 women that advanced to the next episode. Six women did not receive roses in the premiere episode last week, including fan-favorite Patti James who’s the mom of a previous bachelor.
