Who Does Alltran Financial Collect For

Why Is Alltran Financial Calling Me?

If you’ve just gotten a call from Alltran Financial, you probably have a lot of questions: Do I really owe money? Is this a scam? What should you do next?

Having debt in collections is nerve-racking, so you’re probably in a hurry to fix the situation. But don’t rush into anything just yet — you might not owe what Alltran says you do. Here’s our guide.

Sued for debt? Resolve it through debt settlement.

What is Alltran Financial?

Why Is Alltran Financial Calling Me?

Alltran Financial LP is a debt collection agency. Its headquarters are located at 5800 N Course Drive, Houston, TX 77072-1613, and its phone number is 800-568-0399. However, as you might have already discovered, its representatives sometimes call from other phone numbers.

On Alltran’s BBB profile, the website link goes to a company called TSI, which recently acquired Alltran Financial. The TSI website paints the company in a positive light, but the Alltran BBB profile tells a different story.

Despite having been in business for 36 years, the company is not BBB-accredited. Alltran Financial has had several complaints against it in the past three years.

Some of these complaints make Alltran seem like a company you wouldn’t look forward to dealing with:

  • Representatives have allegedly called consumers multiple times per day.
  • Some representatives are described as consistently rude and disrespectful on the phone.
  • One consumer reported being harassed for a debt that had been paid decades prior.

Lack of transparency is never a good look for any organization, at least when it comes to responding to BBB complaints. The only response Alltran gives is a copy-pasted comment saying it will address the complaint by mailing a letter to “protect [the complainant’s] privacy.”

When we checked out the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) database of complaints, we were surprised that there was only a single complaint filed against Alltran Financial between December 2011 and December 2023. That complaint was regarding repeated calls, although the consumer did not provide an explanation. The CFPB noted that Alltran didn’t respond in a timely manner.

In addition to the BBB and CFPB complaints, Alltran Financial doesn’t have great Google reviews, with an average rating of 1.9 out of 5 stars. Check out some real Alltran Financial reviews below:

Who does Alltran Financial collect for? It appears as if Alltran collects on delinquent credit card accounts, student loans, and personal loans. Its parent company, TSI, collects for industries that range from healthcare to small businesses to financial institutions.

What to do if Alltran Financial says you owe money

If you’ve recently had the displeasure of speaking with an Alltran Financial representative, you might wonder about your next steps. Do you need to pay as soon as possible? What if you can’t pay?

It’s easy to feel hopeless — unless you know your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). This law was passed to protect consumers by limiting the power of debt collectors. It also helps reduce fraud by requiring collectors to prove you owe what they say you do. The catch? They only have to verify your debt if you ask!

Even if it seems like it would be easier to just pay the debt and get it over with, you should still ask Alltran to prove you owe something first. Under the FDCPA, if a collection agency can’t prove that you actually owe money, you don’t have to pay it.

However, you shouldn’t just tell a representative over the phone that you want proof of the debt. You will need to send a Debt Validation Letter. This is a formal, written request for proof of your debt. In that letter, you need to ask for six pieces of information:

  • The name of the company you initially owed the money to.
  • An actual copy of your contract with that company.
  • How much you supposedly owe.
  • The last transaction on the account.
  • Alltran’s license number to operate in your state.
  • Proof that Alltran has the legal right to collect the debt.

Ask Alltran Financial to validate your debt.

Once Alltran receives your letter, the company legally can’t continue to bother you about the debt until it’s been validated. Sometimes, the company may never bother you again. Let’s look at an example.

Even if you think the debt is legitimate, it’s still a good idea to send a Debt Validation Letter. Some collectors don’t have the right documentation, and if they don’t, you won’t have to pay. Bear in mind that this advice only applies if the company hasn’t filed a lawsuit against you yet.

What if Alltran does validate your debt? If this happens, the company might be willing to work with you. If you can’t afford to pay right now, try asking about installment plans or offer to settle for less than the amount you owe.

These negotiations are simple when you use SoloSettle. This tool from SoloSuit guides you through the entire process, from your initial offer to the final payment.

Take charge of your debt for good

If you’ve just gotten a call from Alltran (or any debt collector), it’s easy to feel panicked and hopeless. But when you know your rights and are willing to advocate for yourself, you might find yourself owing significantly less than you thought. Let SoloSuit help you navigate this challenge as you move closer to financial freedom.
