Bishop and Lady Mae
Social media is blowing up with Greenleaf fans offering their predictions regarding this 5th and final season. One question on everyone’s minds is which couples will actually make it to the altar. At the end of “The First Day”, Bishop and Lady Mae, were headed to the chapel but there was a terrible tragedy that will delay their nuptials. Before the family departed, Grace ran back into the house to find AJ, who had obviously slit his wrists in a suicide attempt. He was lying on the floor in a pool of blood and his eyes were open. This led many viewers to believe that he was already dead. Others say he will be revived by a blood transplant, which will reveal Grace is not his biological mother.
Whatever happens, it will interrupt the wedding plans and it’s possible Bishop and Lady Mae may not get married at all. In a trailer for this series finale, there was a clip of the Greenleaf patriarch asking his wife in an angry voice if she intended to marry him. Mae had an evil look in her eyes it seemed as if she had been crying. Clearly something takes place that puts this couple at odds with each other. They could have a happy ending and remarry, or decide they are better off as friends. Spoiler alerts have never offered much where this program is concerned, but fans are discussing it on social media. It will be interesting to watch this play out and see which viewers are correct. Will, there be a ceremony or not, only time will tell?

This strange love triangle could go either way and viewers seem to be split down the middle regarding what will happen. Prior to coming to Atlanta, Phil Demar had been dating Bob Whitmore’s daughter but broke her heart. While attempting to manipulate information out of Charity Greenleaf to destroy her family, the two fell in love. Later, Phil told Charity that he was going to marry Judee. On the 5th season premiere, Phill admitted to Charity that he loved her but Bob was forcing him to marry his daughter. Ms. Greenleaf was shocked that he could so easily give her up, but not the chance for a power position within the church.
A clip from the season 5 trailer showed Judee kneeling in front of Phil laughing wickedly. It looked as if she might be demon-possessed so this storyline will definitely become pretty bizarre. Greenleaf fans are not so certain which direction Phil will take but most want him with Charity. Grace could expose Bob Whitmore for the charlatan that he really is, and he leaves town with his daughter before there is a wedding. Phil could marry Judee but leave her for Charity by the end of the season. Mr. Demare could also stand by his commitment, marry Ms. Whitmore, and leave Ms. Greenleaf high and dry.
Carissa, Jacob, and Alexa

Carissa and Jacob seem to be done with each other and headed for divorce. Both have cheated during the marriage and now she is trying to blackmail him. There does not seem like there is much hope for this couple and in addition, Greenleaf brought Slexa Campbell back to the show. Alexa had an affair with Jacob during the first season of the show, and now has a biracial daughter who looks to be about 3 or 4. This would be the right age for the child to be Jacob’s but Alexa said he is not her baby daddy. If this little girl is proven to be a Greenleaf, this will seal the fate of the marriage because Carissa will be furious. Jacob and Alexa are a long way from getting back together and marrying each other, but some fans think it’s possible they may at least become engaged by the end of the series. Another possibility although highly unlikely is that Jacob and Carissa get back together and renew their vows.
Grace and Darius
Darius returned during the premiere episode for season 5 and he and Grace were civil to one another. It’s clear that they love each other, but only time will tell if they get back together. If they do then wedding bells may be in the air by the last episode of Greenleaf and the two may be in a proposed spinoff. Grace seems to be the famiyl member that viewers enjoy the most, so if there is indeed a new show on the horizon, she would naturally be in it. These are all projections by the viewers and it’s probable that no one will make it down the ailse. Since this is the final season for the series, fans are hoping that at least a few of the Greenleaf clan will have happy endings. Stay tuned to find out and be sure to watch “The Second Day” on Tuesday night June 30 at 9:00 PM EST on OWN.
