Who Does Nutrisystem Commercials

Marie Osmond has been candid about her weight loss journey in the past, and she just shared in a new interview that she’s managed to keep off 50 pounds for 15 years. The biggest secret of her success, she says, is having a good mindset.

The 62-year-old, who lost weight with the help of Nutrisystem and is a spokeperson for the brand, told Closer Weekly that she doesn’t think of food as her “enemy.”

“I was born in the worst era possible for women and weight,” she said. “It was the ’70s where everybody had to be Twiggy, you know, a zipper, a lollipop head. It was all ‘name a diet.’ I’ve done that diet, I swear to you.” (Twiggy, in case you’re not familiar with her, was a famous model in the 70s who was known for her thin frame.)

Marie said that she discovered Nutrisystem in 2007, and it helped her go from a size 14 to a size 4.

Marie shared that she’s been off Nutrisystem for 15 years, but she’s taken the tools she learned from the program and continues to use them today.

Marie shared that she’ll “eat a little extra” around the holidays, but tries to get back to healthy eating afterward. “One week it’s off, and you know, you’re back to your game, and you feel great about yourself,” she said.

Marie said that monthly fasts are part of her current healthy lifestyle—she just limits how often she fasts.

“To do it all the time, it shuts your metabolism down,” she said. “So, you get to the point that you really can’t eat a lot of food and that doesn’t work for me. I need to eat. It’s my energy, and also, I think it’s your mental health.”

Marie said she tries not to think about losing weight as “dieting,” because it feels restrictive to her.

“The minute you think ‘dieting,’ you think, ‘Oh, I can’t have this,’ and that’s not what this is about,” she said. “Nutrisystem taught me that food was my friend, it was not my enemy. That you can eat what you love, but make healthy choices and understand portion control and understand the frequency of eating makes it so you can eat food and not starve to death.”

Overall, Marie encourages other people to “eat what you love” but “make healthy choices and understand portion control.”

She added, “don’t think of it as a weight-loss journey or a diet or anything. Just think of it as being healthy. Because that’s really what it is for me.”
