Who God Bless No Man Can Curse

You Cannot Curse Whom God Has Blessed

By Gertrude Flynn-White -12/12/2019

“How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the LORD has not comdemned?” ( Num. 23:8. NLT)

My question, “How can you curse those whom God has blessed?”

Isn’t it ironic how people who call themselves friends, family, or Christians will try to stop you from prospering? God’s favour on your life manifests in different ways. Sometimes it’s promotion as stated in Psalm 75:6-7, ” For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another”.

Sometimes it is success in our endeavors as promised in Deuteronomy 28:8, “The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee”.

When we remain obedient to God’s word and serve Him without compromising our relationship with Him, the challenges we encounter will become stepping stones to our success.

We should not become fearful in our struggles for God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2Timothy1:7)

When God’s hedge of protection is around us, no weapon formed against us will ever prosper and He will condemn every tongue that rises against us. His word declares, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.” (Isaiah 59:19) God will repay them according to their deeds.

Balak saw the arrival of the Israelites from Egypt as a threat to his power and existence. He thought that if Balaam cursed them, he would be able to conquer them and eventually drive them from the land. His fear and envy of these Israelites prompted Him to ask Balaam to curse them but Balaam could not do it.

Balaam tried to pronounce a curse upon Israel three times but he did not have the power to do it. “How can I curse whom God hath not cursed? Or, how shall I defy whom the LORD hath not defied?” (Numbers 23:8) The Scripture tells us that every time Balaam opened his mouth to speak a curse, a blessing came out instead.

Balak couldn’t stop God’s favour upon His people no matter how he tried. With all his wealth and authority, it couldn’t happen because God said, “No!”

When we dwell in the shelter of the Most High; when we dwell in His presence, we will find rest in the shadow of Almighty God.

When God places favour on our life, nobody can can stop or remove it. Nobody can stop our blessing, not even our enemies. What God blesses, no man can curse, who God delivers, no man can bind, and what God approves, no man can condemn. God’s plan for us is to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future.
