10. Finn Balor

The year was a successful one for Balor and The Judgment Day. Alongside Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest Dominik Mysterio the faction dominated across Raw, SmackDown and on PLE.

He faced Edge at WrestleMania in a Hell in a Cell match, defeated Rey Mysterio, twice challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship and captured the Unified Tag Team Championships twice.

9. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn Hits Major WWE Milestone At Crown Jewel

Sami Zayn arguably became the biggest WWE Superstar in the early part of 2023. After the drama of his Bloodline expulsion at Royal Rumble, he challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in front of his hometown crowd at Elimination Chamber in Montreal.

After teaming up with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn began winning big matches and eventually won the Unified Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39. They successfully defended their title against The Bloodline and the Usos but lost in a Steel City Street Fight against Finn Balor and Damien Priest. Zayn continued to feud in Judgment Day and was part of the all-star team that defeated them at Survivor Series: WarGames.

He took Seth Rollins to his limits in a match for the World Heavyweight Championship and partook in two intense outings against Drew McIntyre, which resulted in him being written off television, but he continued to compete on on the house show circuit.

The leader of Imperium continued his dominance throughout 2023. He became the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in company history and he did so by putting on some of the best matches of the year.

His Triple Threat match against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania is a match of the year contender and his two outings against Chad Gable were excellent and his matches with the Miz were way beyond expectations.

LA Knight made 2023 his by becoming the most talked about WWE Superstar of the year. He started out feuding with Bray Wyatt, which resulted in the infamous Pitch Black match at Royal Rumble.

Following this defeat his popularity soared and he began climbing up the card and bested the Miz before challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. During this battle with the Bloodline, teamed with both Randy Orton and John Cena to beat Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. As well as these big-time televised matches they would also clash multiple times on WWE Live shows.

Austin Theory walked into 2023 as the United States Championship and successfully defended it against some of the biggest names in the company. Most notably, he defeated John Cena at WrestleMania 39, while getting wins over Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and Edge.

His 258 day title reign ended at the hands of Rey Mysterio and Theory’s winning momentum stuttered. After losing the title he began partnering with Grayson Waller to see out the year.

Another member of The Judgment Day who enjoyed a very successful 2023. Not only did Priest become a 2-time Unified Tag Team Champion, and the winner of the MITB briefcase, but he also participated in one of the best celebrity matches in WWE history.

He started the year vying for the United States Championship but his San Juan Street Fight against Bad Bunny propelled him to the main event. His victory in the men’s MITB ladder match put him into title contention, however, a successful cash in is yet to arrive. Championship gold did eventually come his way when he and Balor defeated Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to win the Tag Team Championships.

Seth Rollins had a great 2023. He started out in the United States Championship scene before becoming the inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion in May. Upon winning the title he put the company on his back and successfully defended it in several exceptional matches.

Defences against Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre saw him establish the new title as a sought-after prize.

Teaming with his Judgment Day crew he wrestled in both tag and singles action. He found success on NXT, winning the North American Championship twice in 2023. He successfully defended the title against Butch, Sami Zayn, and Dragon Lee.
