Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory started the Black Mafia Family in Southwest Detroit in 1985. By 2000, they had established cocaine distribution sales throughout the United States through their Los Angeles-based drug supplier and direct contacts to Mexican drug cartels. The Black Mafia Family operated out of two primary hubs: one in Atlanta, run by Demetrius Flenory, for distribution, and one in Los Angeles, run by Terry Flenory, for receiving shipments from Mexico.
