A member from The Isaacs band was recently in a serious collision in Tennessee that left one person dead.
“Thank you for the prayers and the love and support, it means so much to me,” says Becky Isaacs Bowman. “They [the doctors] did a complete knee reconstruction on the right side. On the left side, they’re not going to do surgery but I’m not able to walk or put any pressure on it for 6-8 weeks. I covet your prayers.”

The collision happened just outside Hendersonville, Tennessee, on December 15. A man driving on the opposite side of the highway crossed over the median and hit Bowman head-on. It turned out that the man had a stroke, causing the vehicle to veer. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Isaacs is a Christian Bluegrass family band made up of mother Lily Isaacs, daughters Becky and Sonya Isaacs, and son Ben Isaacs, along with John Bowman, Becky’s husband, as an instrumentalist and songwriter.

“I am grateful to the first responders and to the incredible doctors, nurses and staff at Skyline Medical Center for the exceptional care that has been shown to me and my family,” says Bowman in a statement to Christian Post. “I am forever humbled by it all. In spite of the challenges that lay ahead, my faith is strong because I know the hand of God will not lead me where His grace will not keep me. My prayers go out to the family of the gentleman who lost his life in the accident.”
The collision left Bowman with broken legs and knees alongside three fractured ribs. Depending on how fast Bowman heals, she is set to return to the stage with her band by the end of February.
“Becky has a long road to recovery but with the determination she has and the fighter we know her to be, we are praying for and expecting a full recovery,” says the Isaacs family. “We know God has been with her through it all. Thank you for the love and continued prayers for her and our family.”
A GoFundMe page was set up to help cover the medical costs since the crash.

“She will spend four more weeks in a wheelchair, unable to stand or put any weight on either leg,” says an update on the page. “She has a long road to recovery with physical and occupational therapy, as well as dealing with the emotional toll of the severity of the crash and the reality of how close it was to being a completely different outcome that we all choose to not think about. Along with the fact, that another person lost their life in the accident that day.”
Quite fitting, Bowman released her first solo album on October 29, 2022, called Songs That Pulled Me Through The Tough Times.
“If you know Becky, you know that her indelible faith is the cornerstone of her life. She is led by the Spirit and her connection and commitment to Christ is an example to us all.”
Bowman is currently recovering at home as she was released from the hospital last week on December 30 after a 16-day stay in the hospital.
