Who Is Favored To Win The Eagles Giants Game

Fans will get an extra gift this holiday season when the Giants (5-9, 3rd in NFC East) head to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Eagles (10-4, 2nd in NFC East) on Christmas Day in Week 16.

After a season-high three game winning streak, the G-Men fell flat in a 24-6 loss in New Orleans against the Saints this past weekend.

Meanwhile, the Eagles suffered their third consecutive loss for the first time since Sept. 2021 in a 20-17 demoralizing defeat at the hands of the Seahawks on Monday night.

This will be the first of two matchups in three weeks as these two NFC East rivals meet in the final week of the season at MetLife Stadium in Week 18.

Here’s our betting analysis on the spread, total and moneyline for this afternoon Christmas Day game on Monday afternoon in Philly.

Giants vs. Eagles spread: Giants +11.5 (Odds via FanDuel), Eagles -10.5 (Odds via DraftKings)

Even after the Eagles’ nightmare on Monday evening, they’re still a two-score favorite versus the Giants.

Philadelphia has not covered a game in over a month and not at home since Week 9 against the now NFC East leading Cowboys.

However, despite the massive line, I’m still leaning towards taking the Eagles here.

While there’s no excuse for their poor play and turnovers in recent weeks, Philly has had a daunting schedule playing some of the best teams in football with the likes of the 49ers, Cowboys (twice), Bills and Chiefs over the past seven weeks.

After starting 0-2-1 against the spread (ATS) at home this year, the Eagles have either covered or pushed on the spread in their previous three games at Lincoln Financial Field.

On the other hand, the Giants have not covered in six of their eight games and in five of the past six contests on the road in 2023.

Now returning home with a full week of rest and a healthy Jalen Hurts, I believe there’s a chance the Eagles are in a great spot for a bounce back here.

There’s no denying it’s risky given their recent play but I’d lay the 10.5 points with Philadelphia here at -110 (Bet $110 to win $100) on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Prediction: Eagles -10.5

Giants vs. Eagles total: Over 42.5 points (Odds via BetMGM), Under 43 points (Odds via DraftKings)

The Giants are in an eight way tie for being the best at going under this season as they’ve gone below the projected line in 10 of 14 games.

In recent history, this matchup has also trended towards the under as seven of the previous 10 meetings have done so.

However, with a total that sits in the middle of the pack for the Week 16 slate, I’d bet the over in this spot.

At home, the Eagles have had totals go over 43 points in all six games with five of those having 50 or more points in it.

Meanwhile, the Giants despite being a great team to the under, have had half of their road matchups go over this line.

Going back to head-to-head history, the total would be 8-2 to the over with this number.

With the combination of the total not being too high, a porous Eagles defense and Philly’s ability to score more efficiently at home this season, bet the over at multiple sportsbooks with a price of -110.

Prediction: Over 42.5 points

Giants vs. Eagles moneyline: Giants +475 (Odds via PointsBet), Eagles -590 (Odds via BetRivers)

Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith (6) and A.J. Brown (11) celebrate after a touchdown against the Cowboys during the third quarter at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Nov. 5, 2023.

It’s well-known this has been a one-sided affair over the last decade as the Eagles have won 17 of the last 21 meetings.

In fact, the Giants last win in Philly came over 10 years ago all the way back on Oct. 27, 2013.

Can the G-Men put up points against a struggling Eagles defense that might not have top cornerback Darius Slay? I believe they can.

However, this Philly defensive line will be able to control the line of scrimmage and get after QB Tommy DeVito, who’s been sacked 35 times in only seven starts.

It’s a heavy price of -590 (Bet $590 to net $100) but the Eagles avoid their first four-game losing streak in over three years as they cruise to yet another victory over the Giants on Christmas Day.

Prediction: Eagles 31, Giants 17
