Who Is Going Home On Dancing With The Stars Tonight

RTE Dancing With The Stars contestant was left in shock after winning immunity for next week’s show.

This weekend on the hit RTE show was Dedicated Dance Week, with the celebrities dedicating their performances to people who are special in their lives.

Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian were back to give their professional and tough-talking reviews and scores tonight.

No one was eliminated tonight and instead, the celebrities were competing for immunity for the first dance off next week.

And Jockey Davy Russell managed to top the leaderboard with the most public votes and therefore will not be facing elimination next week.

Davy and his partner Kylee Vincent performed contemporary ballroom to Roar by Katy Perry in dedication of Davy’s wife, Edelle.

The three judges were truly amazed by his performance as Arthur said he was “in the moment living his best life”.

Brian told Davy: “All this dedication and hard work has started to pay off. You’re becoming more in sync with the music and more expressive with your movements.”

Loraine: “The lifts, kicks and catches. It was absolutely spot on. A superb performance.”

They got a total score of 26 points from the judges.

After it was announced that Davy won tonight, he said: “I’m delighted. It’s unexpected. The dance just sat right when we done it. It was hard work all week.”

First up tonight was international Drag star Blu Hydrangea with partner Simone Arena who performed the Paso Doble to RuPaul’s hit Sissy That Walk.

Blu celebrated her hero, RuPaul, after being crowned the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World in 2022.

The judges were completely blown away by the sassy performance.

Loraine said: “Blu, you did good.”

Arthur said: “You absolutely smashes that. You exceeded my expectations tonight. I feel like sometimes I couldn’t see who’s the celebrity and who’s the pro.”

‘TELEPATHIC’

However, Brian had some negative comments to say saying: “You could not have given that anymore but I’m not sure it left me wanting more.”

They kicked off the show on a high with 24 points.

Paralympian Jason Smyth and Karen Byrne did a viennese waltz to John Mayer’s Daughters in dedication of the athlete’s own daughters, Evie and Lottie.

Jason impressed the judges as Brian said: “The relationship and connection between you and Karen is almost telepathic.”

The couple got 20 points.

‘NAILED IT’

Six O’Clock Show presenter Katja Mia and her pro partner Ervinas Merfeldas performed the tango to Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves by Annie Lennox and Aretha Franklin in honour of her own sisters, Andrea and Fiona.

Katja’s sisters even debuted on the dance floor during Katja’s dance.

The judges loved her performance as Loraine called it a “beautiful tango” and said they “absolutely nailed it”.

She got a total of 26 points.

Wild Youth singer David Whelan and partner Salome Chachua celebrated his dad Jim while dancing the rumba Sting’s Fields of Gold.

‘PERFECTION’

He blew the judges away as Brian described it as “perfection”.

The couple got a whopping 28 points from the judges.

Former RTE newsreader Eileen Dunne dedicated her performance to her former colleague and close pal, Mary Kennedy.

Eileen and her pro partner Robert Rowinski did a foxtrot to Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Eileen received mixed reviews from the judges but overall positive.

They got a disappointing score of 17 points from the judges.

READY TO RUMBA

Next up was 2FM’s Laura Fox and Denys Samson who performed the quickstep to Galway Girl by Sharon Shannon feat. Mundy. in honour of her number one support, her grandmother Nora AKA Nono.

Laura was almost left in tears after her performance.

The judges gave Laura was great comments as Brian said it was “right up his Shop Street”.

They got a total of 25 points from the judges.

Former Miss World Rosanna Davison with partner Stephen Vincent chose to honour her routine to her beloved dad Chris De Burgh, who she said prepared her for fame.

Chris sang his biggest hit, Lady In Red, live in the studio as she performed the rumba.

Rosanna gave the dance her all and managed to get 26 points from the judges.
