LSU Tigers vs. Texas A&M Aggies Series History

Despite the first matchup between LSU and Texas A&M coming in 1899, a 52-0 win for the Aggies, the two schools have only played 60 times between 1899 and 2022. Nearly all the games before 2012 were non-conference matchups. However, the schools have played every year between 2012 and 2022, with LSU winning 10 out of 12 contests. However, Texas A&M won two of four between 2018 and 2021, including a seven overtime marathon 74-72, a game that set more than a dozen NCAA records.

The 2018 game was played at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Between the two schools, there were more than 1,000 total yards, 17 touchdowns, 10 punts, seven field goals, and two turnovers. Future first overall draft pick, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, accounted for 370 total yards and six touchdowns (three rushing and three passing), and Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond accounted for six touchdowns through the air himself. Controversy struck after the game when LSU coaching analyst Steve Kragthorpe reported to the media that Cole Fisher, the nephew of Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher, punched Kragthorpe in his pacemaker in a post-game altercation.
