THE BRIDE: MAIQUI PINEDA
Maiqui walked down the aisle radiating elegance in an Alex Perry wedding gown called Cameron, an elegant floor-length silhouette accentuated by a silk duchess belt.
The trumpet-style gown flaunted sophistication with its v-neck, open back, and delicate spaghetti straps.
The ivory hue added a touch of beauty to the meticulously crafted Japanese satin back crepe.
A long and exquisite cathedral veil completed Maiqui’s bridal ensemble.

Precious Antuñez, with assistance from Mabeth Concepcion and Don De Jesus, brought out Maiqui’s natural beauty with barely-there bridal make-up.

For the wedding reception, Maiqui changed into a custom-made gown designed by Rajo Laurel, who also happens to be a close family friend.

Spruce Designs’ Pat Tañedo turned the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador, also known as the Pulilan Church, into a romantic setting adorned with vibrant yellow florals for the wedding of Robi and Maiqui.

the WEDDING VOWS
On January 13, 2024, Robi posted on YouTube a same-day edit video that captured the heartfelt exchange of wedding vows between him and Maiqui.
With a smile, Robi reminisced in his vow about the beginning of their love story, “‘Hi.’ Yes, it all started with a certain ‘hi’ which changed my whole life…
“I guess that’s the whole theme of this love letter: my genuine gratitude to you and for you… He has granted my prayers through you.
“The past year has been the toughest year for us— nakakapagod talaga. It [seems] that every single time we solve a problem, a new obstacle arises.
“Despite these, we grew and learned so much from each other which made our love stronger.”
Robi, now in tears, ended his vow, “To my better half, my partner, my wife, I love you so much, and I am excited to spend countless lifetimes with you… We are inevitable.
“My question to you, Maiqui: game ka na ba?”
To which his wife answered in a loving voice, “Game na.”

For her part, Maiqui reaffirmed his love for Robi in her vow, “When we were both in Ateneo, we barely knew each other, so when we met again six years ago, I never expected you would be the one I would spend the rest of my life with…
“The journey to even get to this day was challenging for the both of us, but on the days where I’d be at my worst, I would imagine us being here in this moment.
“And now I can finally say, ‘we did it,’ ‘we made it!'”

Robi and Maiqui handpicked the North Polo Club at Big Ben Farms owned by his mother’s family for their wedding reception.

The events hall of the reception was meticulously curated to showcase the Filipiniana theme of the special day.

The tablescape, decorated with a splendid array of vibrant flowers, added a touch of elegance and warmth to the overall setting.
Pat shared her design inspiration for the reception venue on Spruce Design’s official Instagram page.
The post read, published as is: “More than anything, Robi and Maiqui’s wedding was a family affair.
“These were two beautiful, very close-knit families coming together, and we wanted the evening to highlight that.
“We focused on creating an elegant yet, warm and inviting atmosphere.
“Filipiniana elements like solihiya, capiz, rattan, and locally sourced blooms were then integrated into the design.
“It truly was a heartfelt celebration that was inspired by Maiqui’s love for Filipino art and design.”

Cibo, owned by Margarita Fores, served a delicious dinner for the guests, while Honey Glaze Cakes created a beautiful four-tier, all-white wedding cake for the couple.

WEDDING HIGHLIGHTS
The wedding reception was filled with memorable moments, starting with Robi introducing himself and Maiqui as newlyweds in a video.
In an Instagram Story captured by fellow host Ai dela Cruz, Robi enthusiastically greeted their beloved guests, “Ladies and gentlemen, good evening! Welcome to Robi and Maiqui’s wedding reception. Please welcome your host, Mr. Robi Domingo…
“Hi! Welcome to our wedding reception. Ganito pala yung feeling, ‘no? Kinakabahan ako.”
To make the wedding extra special, Regine, Ogie, Martin, and Gary performed during the celebration.
Robi and Maiqui had their first dance as a married couple while being serenaded by Regine.

After their overwhelming journey, Maiqui thanked everyone on Instagram for a magical and joyful wedding day.

WEDDING DAY SIDE STORY
The next day after their wedding celebration, January 7, 2024, Robi received the heartbreaking news that his grandmother passed away that same morning during his marriage rite.

He wrote via Instagram on January 9, “Bittersweet. January 6 was the happiest day of my life.
“My heart was filled with immense gratitude -from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception which lasted until dawn.
“As I was about to leave the place, my mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning.
“Apparently, my family didn’t tell us so that our focus was our magical day.”
ROBI DOMINGO AND MAIQUI LOVE PINEDA: LOVE STORY
In September 2018, rumors sparked about a potential romance between Robi and Maiqui.
On November 18, 2022, Robi confirmed in an interview with Darla Sauler on Star Magic that he and Maiqui began dating on August 8, 2018.
He said, “After some diving lessons nung August 8, pumunta kami sa baba— naka-oxygen tank, lahat, everything.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘you, me,’ siyempre di ko naman pwedeng masabi [dahil] nasa ilalim ng dagat.
“Pag-akyat namin, yun lang, ‘Tayo na ba?’ tas sabi niya, ‘Ano yun? What’s that?’ sabi ko,… ‘Boyfriend-girlfriend.’”
Using signs for “you, me, and a heart shape,” Robi’s creative proposal worked, and Maiqui responded with an okay sign and a sweet “yes.”
After a few years of dating, the 34-year-old host finally proposed to Maiqui amid the bustling Shibuya crossing in Tokyo, Japan, as shown in a video posted by ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe on November 4, 2022.
Two days later, Robi shared on Instagram snapshots of that momentous proposal and announced him to be “officially off the market.”

On August 3, 2023, Maiqui took to Instagram to disclose she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease.
In her caption, “What was supposed to be an exciting year of wedding planning, preparing for a new home and working on my career, life had other plans for me… I got sick.
“I have a rare autoimmune disease called Dermatomyositis that causes muscle weakness, inflammation and a skin rash.
“I already started treatment but the journey to recovery is far from over.”
To bring comfort to his partner and let her focus on her treatment, Robi at first suggested holding off the wedding day.
“Actually, I told her about delaying the wedding.
“Pero she told me, ‘No, give me something to hope for.’ So, dapat walang delay.
“Kasi gusto niya na may target kami, may target date. Kailangan by that date or before that, um-okay na siya,” he told the media at a press conference for PIE Channel’s launch of new game shows in August 2023.
He continued, “I have to be hands-on because she is focused on the betterment of her condition. So, kailangan habang iniisip niya yung sarili niya, ako muna sa lahat.”
