Mikey Day is an American television actor, comedian, writer and producer. He is best known for his work on NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) late night show where he has served in various capacities since 2013. He joined SNL as a writer in 2013 before becoming a featured performer in 2016. The talented actor-comedian was finally promoted to regular Saturday Night Live cast member in 2018, at the start of the show’s 44th season.

Mikey Day was born Michael William Day in Orange County, California on March 20, 1980. He was educated at Panorama Elementary School and in high school attended El Modena High School. Growing up, Day was very active in his high school’s drama program and he was responsible for creating comedy sketches for the school’s monthly assemblies. For his college education, he attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned a degree in theater.

He also worked on the short-lived Damon Wayans sketch comedy series The Underground (2006) doubling as writer and performer. The multi-talented star then had a starring role in the NBC sitcom Kath & Kim remake (2009), however, the show only lasted one season. He later landed a hosting gig on recurring segments of The Jay Leno Show and The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno which ran from 2010 to 2013.
