Interscope has signed a partnership with Natanael Cano’s label, Los CT, welcoming artists from its roster.

Back in 2019, Cano infused Mexican corridos and trap-infused sounds, a genre now known as ‘corridos tumbados.’ His breakthrough release, Corridos Tumbados, dominated the Regional Mexican Albums chart for 31 consecutive weeks.

In 2022, Cano, alongside his long-time manager Ramon Emilio Hernandez, founded Los CT, seeking to further globalize Cano’s Mexican music style. The launch of the new label also follows a public dispute with Cano’s former label, Rancho Humilde, in 2021.

“I was fighting some things legally for a long time, but I have artists who are already doing great, whose videos have like 3 million streams here, 2 million there, so I think we’re going to do well,” Cano said in an interview with Rolling Stone in April 2022.

Los CT’s roster now includes singer-songwriter Gabito Ballesteros, whose track AMG alongside Natanael Cano and Peso Pluma, climbed to No. 37 on the Billboard 100. Ballesteros gained further recognition with hits like LADY GAGA and El Tsurito in collaboration with Peso Pluma and Junior H, earning him the title of Latin Artist on the Rise by Billboard in July.

Notable additions to the roster include Amilkar Galaviz, Nueva H, Cocho, Herencia LP, and Uriel Gaxiola, among others.

Los CT co-founder Ramon Emilio Hernandez added: “I’m excited to join forces with Nir, Manny, and everyone at Interscope to discover and nurture this new wave of young artists at Los CT.”

The deal with Interscope came nearly eight months after Los CT signed a deal with Downtown Music Services that saw the latter handling worldwide distribution, creative marketing and synch for Cano’s label.

For Interscope, the deal follows its new collaboration with Mogul Vision, founded by music industry entrepreneur Josh Marshall, and the launch of its joint venture record label with award-winning film and TV writer/ producer Kenya Barris and his film and television company Khalabo Ink Society.

In 2021, Interscope also formed a joint venture with Adam Mersel’s Immersive Records label.
