Who is National Enterprise Systems?
National Enterprise Systems, or NES, is an Ohio based collection agency that attempts to collect debts that have been purchased at a low rate from creditors (such as retail stores or banks). NES has been the subject of numerous complaints.

In one recent case the consumer alleged that despite information she provided to NES that she was disabled with a cancerous brain tumor and thus unable to work and pay the debt which Defendant sought to collect, NES harassed and verbally abused Plaintiff falsely threatening her with legal action and loss of her disability benefits which resulted in her suffering seizures. Strom v. Nat’l Enter. Sys., 2010 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 37369 (W.D. NY 2010). In another recent case a consumer alleged that between November 21, 2007, and December 6, 2007, National Enterprise Systems contacted him by telephone at least 28 times trying to collect a debt. He also alleged that in these telephone calls NES repeatedly and improperly requested personal and financial information, accused him of fraud, threatened him with legal action, harassed and abused him, all in violation of the FDCPA and Oregon collection laws. Whitworth v. National Enterprise Systems, 2010 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 49108 (D. OR 2010).
According to the company’s web site, “NES currently has approximately 500 employees in thirteen departments, including over 300 in collection operations alone and will hire as necessary to accommodate growth in the collection units. Due to the high number of staff dedicated to all aspects of the collections process as well as the ease of expandability in all systems, from phone and dialer lines to collection software seats, NES is able to accommodate high volume clients without delay.” _________________________
