In the latest episode of The Kardashians, which was made available to stream on Hulu on Thursday, North West mocked mom Kim Kardashian’s 2023 Met Gala look—in front of its creator Daniel Roseberry.

The annual fundraiser in May was dedicated to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld. The creative director of Chanel passed away in 2019 at the age of 85, with celeb tributes including his trademark white shirts, Chanel couture, and Jared Leto dressed as a cat in honor of the German designer’s beloved feline Choupette.
Never a wallflower, Kardashian, 43, attended the event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in a gown made primarily of pearls, puff sleeves and a sweeping train.
Ahead of the gala, the reality star and her daughter visited Roseberry—creative director for Schiaparelli—to try on the dress. But North, who was 9 years old at the time, was unimpressed with the outfit, telling her mom: “It could be just a little bit better.”
“There’s way too much gaps in the pearls,” she said. “It looks like she’s a Hawaiian girl with her dress all ripped. The pearls look fake.”

West also wasn’t a fan of the diamond choker holding the upper pearls in place, telling her mom and the designer “It’s like the diamonds ruin it.”
“No, no, I think you’re wrong here,” Kardashian told West, before lecturing her daughter on respecting people’s feelings.
“There’s a way to be honest and not hurt people’s feelings,” she said. “So I want you to learn that. There’s a way to say, you know, I might not love that.”
To which West replied: “You know, I might not love your necklace or your outfit, but I’m just trying to support you. Was that good?”
Kardashian later revealed that her daughter has a “critical” streak, admitting in a confessional: “This is my worst nightmare come to life.” However, she praised her daughter’s honesty.
“North won’t lie and that’s amazing,” she said. “So I’m trying to teach her, you don’t need to jump in and annihilate people for no reason. There’s a way to soften it up.”

Roseberry didn’t know what to make of the fitting, telling cameras he’d been “read to filthy by a 9-year-old.”
The group also took a look back at some of Kardashian’s previous Met Gala ensembles, and West, now 10, had plenty of thoughts on the topic.
She said her favorite look was her mom’s Thierry Mugler “wet” dress from 2019—a skin-tight nude mini dress with crystal raindrops dripping from the surface. However, she was not a fan of Kardashian’s 2021 outfit, the famous all-over black Balenciaga gown.
“It looked like you’re getting covered by a plastic bag and you’re suffocating,” the pre-teen said.
Along with North West, Kardashian is also mom to Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4, with ex-husband Kanye West. The couple split in 2021 after 10 years together.
