swoon-worthy, slow-burn, fake dating romance

Twisted Lies is slow-burn and swoon-worthy last book in Twisted series featuring Stella and Christian story.Writing is the same as in previous books with alternative perspectives from Christian and Stella. The plot is even better. This time it’s slow burn romance with the mystery of who Stella’s stalker is. As usual, I loved the characters and their backstory, I was curious to know about Christian’s past and what he is hiding from Stella and what he lied about. The stalker situation added its tension in the story and at the same time author kept the focus on the growing friendship and relationship between Stella and Christian until the climax.I liked Christian in previous books. He is most grey character I read in this series after Alex. I feel he was very much like Alex minus deadly icy stares and rough in sex. He is charming, playboy in expensive suits, in control, and calm that hides his darker side. I can’t help but agree with what Rhys said in Twisted Games. “He is a wolf in expensive clothing“.Moral and love don’t exist in his dictionary. No one would want to be on his wrong side. It was both chilling and jaw-dropping to see what he did when someone crossed him or annoyed him. He blew up the car of a businessman who tried to steal his parking at the club! 😮I think the stalker was a fool to think he could get away with harassing Stella once he knew Christian is dating her. It was amazing to see how Stella could bring lots of change to him and make him believe in everything he didn’t believe before. It was so lovely to see Stella wasn’t wrong about him after all, he is softy inside (or at least for Stella). I absolutely loved how he helped Stella with lowering rent and then offering her to live in his apartment when stalker problem came forth. I don’t like overly possessive guys but in this, I didn’t mind his possessiveness (even when he killed anyone who touched Stella!). It was amazing to see how this fearless intimidating man was brought down to his knees by Stella.Stella is lovely and pure soul. She is introvert, shy with controlled and collected front that hides her lack of self-confidence that she developed because of her overbearing competitive family. It was sad to see how much her family made her doubt herself. One thing she loved most is her privacy and it was sad to see how her stalker made her vulnerable to the point of having panic attacks. I loved Christian for making her bold and brave, believing in herself; for taking care of her when she felt vulnerable. While I didn’t like how Christian’s research on Stella broke trust between them, I also think Stella overreacted a little. I mean when you look at Alex and Rhys who did all research on Ava and Bridget’s friends it’s kind of the same thing but it didn’t hurt her as she didn’t know about it. What Alex and Rhys did was also a breach of Privacy but Christian was caught. When he explained it, it made sense but comparing him to her stalker wasn’t right. I liked how she realized it even though it was in the worst situation. Romance, like I said is slow burn. I enjoyed fake dating between them. It brought them together and made them understand each other more. There were many fabulous moments between them. My favorites are – when Christian helped Stella when she had a panic attack, when he boost her confidence with her first shoot, helping her with her fashion dream, taking her to her dream destination, both standing up and defending each other against Stella’s parents, Christian’s apology, and how he wrote those letters. Their chemistry is simply amazing throughout the book. Did I mention Christian rented the whole inland also agreed to pay 70k for the necklace just so he could have moments with Stella? It’s super sexy and romantic. It’s one of the reasons I loved Billionaire Romance. Thank the lord I didn’t read these books before my marriage or there would be some issues with setting standards and for guys (read ‘my husband’) achieving them. 😂 Yes, sure the sex scenes are the same as in previous books but somehow I didn’t feel uncomfortable (maybe I don’t mind that anymore!), whatever the reason it was really well written in this book and that’s why (and also because of amazing plot and characters) this is my favorite book in the series.Climax is amazing. There is lots of things happening in this part, break-up, apology, heartbreak and then the stalker finally showing up which I was anticipating from the beginning… I couldn’t have guessed his identity and when it was revealed, I was shocked. It made sense why he wasn’t caught so far and how he escaped Christian’s tight security. It was outrageous to see who the traitor turned out and I’m not sorry for what Christian did to the traitor and everyone who had a hand in helping the stalker. As for what he did to the stalker, it was chilling. End is my favorite. I absolutely loved seeing all four friends and their partners and also their kids (Alex’s kids are so adorable and I’m not surprised Rhy and Bridget’s kid is so mature for her age) together in the end. I wanted more of it and it’s sad to say goodbye to them.
