Tayla Lynn grew up near the glow of her grandmother, country singer-songwriter Loretta Lyn. Because of the spotlight, the first few years of her life was a fairytale. But all completely changed when her parents split up. From there, her life has been full of darkness. It was so dark that only God could ever save her.
Childhood days
When Tayla’s parents divorced, her mother remarried. Sadly, her stepfather wasn’t what she hoped to be. In fact, on their wedding night, he kicked her across the room down the hall into her bedroom. Since that incident, Tayla just became different.

She turned to alcohol by the time she became a teenager. It was her way of suppressing the fears and hurts she carried inside. In the midst of Tayla’s chaotic life, her aunt planted seeds of hope in her. She told her about how Jesus is always going to be there for her no matter what. And so even through the abuse and her own wrong choices, she felt comfort over the truth that Jesus loves her.
Hooked up with drugs
When Tayla turned 18, she embraced a party life in downtown Nashville. It wasn’t long after when she was introduced to cocaine and cocaine dealers. From there, everything just quickly went down. She was sent to rehab but it didn’t take long for her to get hooked again. She kept denying she had an addiction but she already reached a point wherein she sold her soul just to pay for pills.
She dated drug dealers, stole money from her grandmothers, and even tried heroin. At this point, she was already far down the rabbit hole. It was years of drinking and drugs that she was certain darkness and death were her constant companions.

Tayla’s turning point began when she was arrested for hit and run in Nashville. She was then transferred to rehab where she finally decided it was time to change. She felt hope inside her and she just prayed to God asking for help to stop craving for her vices.
She also surrendered her life to God, and right then and there, she felt a release from the bondage. “God just took the chains and they were gone,” Tayla said.
Today, she is married and has a family of her own. She also serves the Lord by helping others who went through the same path as hers.
