West Palm Beach, Fla. —
During Dalia Dippolito’s second trial in December, her attorney Brian Claypool dropped a bombshell during closing arguments, and referred to it again in a news conference.

“You heard today in court Dalia Dippolito has a little boy. And that’s all we’re going to say,” Claypool told reporters.
Even Judge Glenn Kelley expressed surprise to learn of the secret baby born on house arrest to a mother charged with hiring a hit-man to kill her husband.
“Normally there are orders in the file about permission for going to hospital or prenatal care or postnatal care; I don’t recall seeing any of that,” Kelley told the lawyers during trial.
WPBF 25 News obtained the house arrest records for Dippolito, and according to those records and other sources, learned new details about when and where Dippolito gave birth.

On March 17, 2016, records show Dippolito visited her OB-GYN physician at 1:30 p.m.
Nine hours later, a map tracking her GPS ankle monitor showed Dippolito at West Boca Medical Center, at 10:37 p.m.
According to a source familiar with her stay in the hospital, Dippolito gave birth the next day, March 18, to a baby boy.
The map tracking her GPS monitor appeared to show Dippolito leaving West Boca Medical Center March 21. From the records, it’s not clear if this was for another visit or when she was released.
House arrest records also show the then 33-year-old first time mother only requested to see her OB-GYN doctors five times during her pregnancy. And a month before having the baby, she left home for some type of an emergency visit, which was noted in a hand-scribbled note to deputies.
Dippolito’s attorneys have kept strict silence about who the father is, and any other details about Dippolito’s mystery baby.

Attorney Greg Rosenfeld declined to comment about the records on Wednesday.
In a status hearing following her mistrial, Rosenfeld asked Kelley last week to modify Dippolito’s house arrest so she could go on outings with her son. Dippolito is currently confined to her house and back patio.
Kelley declined to modify the parameters of the house arrest, but did say he would consider individual and specific requests.
Dippolito has been in jail or on house arrest for almost eight years, since Boynton Beach Police arrested her after setting up an elaborate sting that included undercover video of her negotiating with a supposed hit-man to kill her then husband.
Her first trial resulted in a conviction and a 20-year sentence but was overturned by an appeals court due to a jury selection technicality.
After her second trial ended with a mistrial due to a hung jury, Dippolito faces a third trial on her charges.
