General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that we have to ask: Is Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) the real father of Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) baby? The paternity truth will be revealed one way or the other, but it’s worth considering the idea that some trickery is afoot.

After all the shady stunts Esme has pulled since she came to Port Charles, she just can’t be trusted.
No one knows what Esme might’ve been up to offscreen around the time she slept with Nikolas.
If the show wanted to throw a curveball, they could easily write in another hookup and add a father candidate.
Esme may have slept with another guy and got herself pregnant by him instead.

Of course, it benefits Esme to be carrying a Cassadine heir. That offers Esme some level of protection and fits right in with the plot she’s got in motion with Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).
That gives Esme some incentive to pass this baby off as Nikolas’ whether it’s true or not.
Even a paternity test won’t really offer confirmation since the results are manipulated all the time on soaps.
We wouldn’t put it past Esme to cook up some bogus DNA results if it comes down to it. Esme has proven she’ll do whatever it takes to get what she wants.
If Esme is lying about Nikolas being the father of her unborn child, who might the actual father be?
It’s something interesting to ponder – just in case Esme is resorting to deception like she’s done so many times before.
Thankfully, Spencer was shutting Esme out in the bedroom following their fake reunion, so that lets him off the hook when it comes to “baby daddy” options.

However, we couldn’t help but notice that Esme seemed almost annoyed as she listened to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) talk about Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) on the October 5 episode.
Dex hasn’t given any indication that he knows Esme intimately, but we’re also talking about a guy who pretends on a daily basis.
If Dex can fool Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and hide the truth about working for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), then he could certainly hide an Esme connection.
Wouldn’t it be quite the twist if somewhere down the line – after Josslyn and Dex become a couple – Esme reveals that Dex is the true father?
Regardless, there’s no guarantee Esme is being honest about the baby’s paternity, so it’ll be interesting to see how all this plays out.
