Who Is The First Person To Enter Jannah

In this article, we will talk about the women who promised Jannah, who are they? And who is the First lady to enter Jannah? Let’s find out.

Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said: “The best of women among the people of Paradise are Khadija bint Khuwaylid, Fatimah bint Muhammad, Maryam bint ‘Imran, and ‘Asiyah bint Muzahim, the wife of Pharaoh.”

The first woman to enter Jannah

1 – Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid “First woman to enter Jannah“

Khadijah was a great woman, she was called ‘at Tahira – ‘the pure one’. She was a wealthy businesswoman, she got married to the prophet and stood by him no matter what happened.

Abu Huraira reported: The Angel Gabriel came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, here is Khadīja bint khuwaylid coming to you with a dish of stew, food, and drink. When she arrives before you, greet her with peace on behalf of her Lord and myself. Give her glad tidings of a palace in Paradise…”

Khadīja bint khuwaylid was the first person to become a Muslim and believe in the prophet, when the prophet first received revelation, he came to her scared and shaking, and she supported him. She gave her royalty and financial life to support him. When she passed away the prophet was devastated and the year became the year of sorrow.

The prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said: “She believed in me when no one else did; she accepted Islam when people rejected me, and she helped and comforted me when there was no one else to lend me a helping hand.” So Khadīja bint khuwaylid was the first woman to enter Jannah.

2- Maryam bint Imran.

Allah said in the Holy Quran: ‘And [mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.”’ (3:42)

Maryam bint Imran went through many hardships and struggles in her life. She gave birth to the prophet Isa, she was in so much pain and alone. When she returned to her people, they accused her of adultery saying that she brought disrepute to her family name.

However, when she was given birth to the prophet Isa, Allah sent her angels to comfort her, and a tree full of fruits to eat from. After she gave birth, she didn’t run away from her people even though she knew what they will accuse her with. Because she had a strong faith in Allah and knew he will protect her, Allah made the prophet Isa speaks from the cradle to exonerate her.

3- Asiyah Bint Muzahim.

Allah said in the Holy Quran: “And Allah presents an example of those who believed: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, “My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people.” [Surah At Tahrim, Verse 11]

Asiyah was married to the Pharaoh, he was one of the worst men on earth who thought himself a god, he said to his people, “I am your Lord, the Highest.” Asiyah believed in the prophet Musa and declared her faith, but when her husband knows he tortured her and gave her the choice, either to declare her disbelieve in Islam or she will faith her death. She chose to stay a believer and therefore she was martyred.

From her, we learn how a true believer should be, and never lose faith in Allah no matter how many hardships and struggles we go through in our lives.

4- Fatima Bint Muhammad.

Aisha narrated: “I have not seen anyone more closely resemble the disposition, mannerism, and characteristics of the Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings be upon him than his daughter Fatima, may Allah honor her countenance. If she entered his home, the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) would stand for her, take her by the hand, kiss her, and seat her in his place.

Fatima was the daughter of the prophet Muhammad and Khadīja bint khuwaylid, she was their youngest child. She lost her mother while she was still young, and grew up seeing how the disbelievers mistreat her father. One time when the prophet was praying in front of the Kaaba Uqbah ibn Abi Muayt threw camel filth on the back of the Prophet. when Fatima saw that she went to her father, removed the filth from his back, and stood before the people of Quraish.

When her mother Khadija passed away, she was so sad and her health got worth, and then she became more protective of her father, therefore, she was called “Umm Abi-ha – the mother of her father”.

Who is the first woman to enter Paradise?

The first woman to enter Paradise is Maryam Bint Imran, the mother of the prophet Isa. Allah said in the holy Quran:

“And (remember) when the angels said: “O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah has chosen you, purified you (from polytheism and disbelief), and chosen you above the women of the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of her lifetime).”[Quran 3:42]

The first woman to enter Jannah in hadith.

There are many Hadiths that prove that and here are some of them:

The prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said:

“Among the women of the Universe, Mary, daughter of ‘Imraan, Khadīja bint khuwaylid, daughter of Khuwaylid, Faatimah, daughter of Muhammad, and Aasiyah, the wife of Pharaoh are enough for you.”

The prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said to his daughter Fatima:

“Don’t you like to be the mistress of all the ladies of Paradise?” In another narration, he said to his daughter: “You are mistress of all the ladies of Paradise except the Virgin Mary”.

Here’s another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said:

“If I swear I will be true that no one will enter Paradise before the foremost of my Ummah except some people numbering less than twenty. Among them are Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mary daughter of ‘Imraan.”

From this hadeeth, we can see that Mary daughter of ‘Imraan will be the first woman to enter paradise.
