Who Is The Guest Picker On College Gameday This Weekend

A Saturday institution since 1987, ESPN’s College GameDay has become a tradition ingrained within college football, a roving college football circus “Comin’ to your City” for three hours every game day morning.

Where is the flagship show this week? Who will act as the guest picker this Saturday? Here’s all the information on the College GameDay location and guest picker for Week 14 of the 2023 college football season.

ESPN College GameDay Location for Week 14

  • Location Atlanta, GA
  • Matchup Georgia vs. Alabama (SEC Championship Game)
  • Show time 9 a.m. ET
  • TV Channel ESPN, FuboTV

With 10 possible destinations on “Championship Weekend,” ESPN has announced that the College GameDay location for Week 13 will be Atlanta, GA. The flagship Saturday show will set up at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the SEC Championship Game showdown between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.

With multiple storylines weaving through this matchup between two college football powerhouses, there’s no real surprise that Atlanta has been chosen to be the College GameDay location in Week 14. With the Pac-12 title game playing on Friday, there isn’t a matchup this weekend with as many possible permutations as the SEC Championship Game.

All eyes are on Atlanta as Georgia looks to seal a second successive SEC title, bolstering their bid for the College Football Playoff as they aim to secure a historic “three-peat” with a third-consecutive college football national championship. The Bulldogs are undefeated and the No. 1-ranked team in the nation heading into the crucial clash with Alabama on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide crew head to Atlanta looking to play spoiler while fighting for their own opportunity to play in the College Football Playoff. Almost written off after early season struggles — including a loss to Texas and a quarterback controversy — Alabama is peaking at the right time, and a win could upset the apple cart on “Selection Sunday.”

Atlanta returns as a College GameDay location for the third year in a row. Last season, the ESPN flagship show was there for the College Football Playoff semifinal between Georgia and Ohio State, witnessing one of the most dramatic climaxes in playoff history as the clock struck midnight on New Year’s.

Meanwhile, College GameDay was in attendance the last time that these two teams came together for the SEC Championship Game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In 2021, Alabama came to Georgia as the third-ranked team in the nation, taking down the No. 1 Bulldogs 41-24 to ensure both teams made it to the final four.

Saturday will mark the 36th time that the Bulldogs have appeared on the ESPN Saturday staple, with Athens providing the College GameDay location less than one month ago. Although they comfortably dismissed Ole Miss in that clash, Georgia has just a 17-18 record when being the featured game.

With a 36-20 record when playing in front of the College GameDay crowd, the Crimson Tide are one of the most successful teams of any program appearing over 10 times.
