Danny Dyer
Such has been the success of Danny Dyer on ‘EastEnders’, playing Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, that the show sought to keep him contracted for three years in 2014. The deal was thought to be worth £400,000. Once the deal runs out next year, he could be in line for even more.
Cliff Parisi
He might only have been a peripheral character, but Rick ‘Minty’ Pearson, played by Cliff Parisi from 2002 to 2010 did pretty well out of ‘Enders over the years. Salary details leaked in 2006, showing that Peterson was making a rather sturdy £220,000 a year. Not bad for just wandering around after Phil and getting laughed at.

It’s reported that Babs scored a particularly lucrative contract during her ‘EastEnders’ heyday, playing the inimitable Peggy Mitchell. As well show wages, she ensured she was also able to work as a voiceover artist too, voicing ads for Tesco and online bingo. The two-year deal earned her a cool £500,000.
William Roache
Thanks to tabloid reports in 2014, It emerged that there was a fair bit of disparity between the wages of younger ‘Coronation Street’ players and the established stars, some of the old guard earning six times as much as more recent arrivals. It was said that the likes of Bill Roache, who’s played Ken Barlow for a Guinness Record-breaking 56 years, make in the region of £250,000 a year.
Ray Meagher
Stone the flamin’ crows, Ray ‘Alf Stewart’ Meagher is worth a few bucks. He’s played the role of the irascible Home And Away denizen since 1988, earning him the Guinness World Record for the longest serving cast-member in an Australian soap. It was reported in 2009 that he was earning $500,000 (nearly £300,000) a year. It’s likely more today.
Alison Sweeney
As with most things in the US, soap wages are sizeably bigger. So Alison Sweeney, who has played Sami Brady in ‘Days Of Our Lives’ since 1993, is on a few quid. It’s also helped that she’s hosted slimming show ‘The Biggest Loser’ for the past eight years too. She’s estimated to be worth $9 million (£6.9 million).

John Aniston
Not only a veteran soap actor, thanks to a career spanning 50 years, John Aniston is also the father of Jennifer Aniston. But on US TV, he’s rather famous in his own right, playing Victor Kirakis on ‘Days Of Our Lives’ since 1985. Thanks mostly to this long-running role, he’s worth an estimated $10 million (£7.6 million).
Daniel Goddard
Daniel Goddard started out on Aussie fave ‘Home and Away’, but made the move as a model to the US, working for Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2007, he joined the cast of ‘The Young And The Restless’, playing Cane Ashby. Just a few years later, and he’s the second-highest paid soap actor in the world, worth nearly $17 million (£13 million).
Deidre Hall
Deidre Hall has been in the soap business since the 70s, in shows like ‘Emergency!’ and ‘The Young And The Restless’. She scooped the role of Dr. Marlena Evans on ‘Days Of Our Lives’ in 1976, and has been on the show on and off ever since. As well as being a regular on ‘Our House’, it means she’s worth around $12 million (£9.1 million).
Eric Braeden
Braeden plays the patriarch of the Newman family on US soap ‘The Young And The Restless’. He’s a soap icon and a household name in the US, where the show is the ratings leader. As such, his wages are off the scale. As of last year, Braeden was reported to be worth a huge $25 million (£19.1 million).
