Who Is The President Of Hollywood

This year’s Comedy Central Roast of James Franco had some great moments. Let’s reflect on a few of them by reliving them, shall we?

These video clips are uncensored, so please put your headphones on if you’re watching this in mixed company!

Bill Hader sat on the dais in black tie like all the rest, but wisely decided to show up to the podium in character as “The President of Hollywood,” which was good enough to make us already miss him from this fall’s upcoming season of Saturday Night Live. Here’s just the first part of Hader’s roast.

Andy Samberg, for his part, tried to go the opposite route. Not quite like Norm Macdonald’s infamous anti-roast throwback set. Because Samberg’s positively positive jokes about his dais mates took a dark turn when he got to Jeffrey Ross.

You’ve seen some of Sarah Silverman’s great jokes already in the preview clips. Here, she took on Roast newcomer Natasha Leggero. Silverman will explain in great detail how and why. But you’ll have to know your references to truly enjoy her roast of Aziz Ansari. Roll the clip!

So here was Natasha Leggero’s first Comedy Central Roast. The writers usually do their best to provide newcomers with a hefty arsenal of jokes. Here’s the first part of Leggero’s set:

And Aziz Ansari’s rebuttal.

Jeff Ross had his hair did like “Riff Raff,” the character James Franco played in this year’s movie, Spring Breakers. Ross, the “Roastmaster General,” even took aim at Franco’s grandmother, sitting in the audience. Too soon? Too late?

For my money, some of the best jokes came early in the show, though, as Nick Kroll joked about Seth Rogen’s writing partner, Evan Goldberg. Great stuff! Roll the clip!

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t give the night’s honored guest a few minutes here, too. This, then, was James Franco’s rebuttal.

By the way, if you watched the Roast on Comedy Central last night — or even just glanced at some of these videos — then perhaps you noticed quite a few comedians and TV/movie stars in attendance who didn’t make the dais! Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Samm Levine, Brett Gelman, Busy Phillips, Kate Walsh, the Workaholics guys, Owen Burke, Seth Morris, Retta. Reaction shots. Vined it!
